Note that this will replace some police, not the entire police force, so no need to panic.

I don't know much about US police, but in the UK we have community support officers who work in one neighbourhood and get to know the residents and the issues, so anything that isn't an emergency they can sort out, as they are well known to everyone it results in fewer issues as they are seen more as a helpful friend, I think US needs something like that by the sounds of it? Instead of grunts running into every situation armed with guns?

Good. "The police wear too many hats" is a phrase thrown around a lot and it's true. We can't expect them to be combat ready psychologists :poot:

We need civil servants, not soldiers

That's awesome!  I hope to see more changes like this across the country

I wish some nation Across the world would adopt this tbh . Police brutality affects so many nations that it has been so normalised that civilians think it's normal for them to be treated that way

SICK. I'm nervous but excited! I know it's going to take time to really establish a safer system but this is a needed change.

All police officers should have some education in psychology as well as receiving a regular following by a professional.

That's a good thing...we don't need cops with guns showing up to a party telling people to quiet down... :wtfga:
