O.K., so, I watched this movie last night on Netflix, I saw the banner and I was thinking, "Whew! It's been awhile, wonder how it looks like now?!" then I pressed play. And...., after the first 15 minutes, I realized the film was not holding up well today. It is not as good as I remember it. And honestly that is such heartbreaking moment for me, not for long though, cos the music at least still banging!

That movie was Moulin Rouge!

There are a lot of movies that I always go back to, and always a good time each time watching it, no matter how many times already. But Moulin Rouge sadly is not one of them.

And I am wondering if anyone here had the same experience before or recently? What movie it was, and what was your experience like?

Discuss. :flower:

I didn't appreciate Elizabeth: The Golden Age on my first watch, last month I again re-visited the movie and felt good! (Although the script is so bad).

I've never actually seen Moulin Rouge. :laughga:

Hmm, I'm not sure. I mean most movies are a product of their time, so for me, the only stuff that doesn't hold up necessarily most of the time are effects. I watch a lot of film, especially movies from 30-40 years ago but aside from that, and perhaps some humor that's no longer acceptable, I never really have many issues.

Although technically I can say that I rewatched Star Wars The Phantom Menace for the first time since I was a kid the other day, and holy sh|t is that movie terrible.

Moulin Rouge! Wtf! It's the best movie of all time and will never age because the soundtrack is made up of popular songs that we all love! :saladga:

It's even been adapted for Broadway in the last 2 years, that's how popular and well loved it is.
