The committee said that the two new records are: ⚡️Brazil, October 31, 2018: The world's longest reported distance for a single lightning flash. It covered a horizontal distance of about 440 miles across parts of southern Brazil. That's equivalent to the space between between London and the border of Switzerland. ⚡️Argentina, March 4, 2019: The longest duration for a single flash. It lasted for 16.73 seconds. Internet usually stays on when the power is out in my area. Also, I have a natural gas powered generator that kicks in and powers items like refrigerator and computer.
