ok but honestly "pedo" is a strong word and should be used carefully. people r*ping children are not the same with nicki's questionable lyrics in this song. HOWEVER as i said, these lyrics are .... questionable to say the least

You obviously have selected and put bits and pieces together to understand what you want to understand. Like I said I WOULD PAY MY FAMILIES COURT BILLS TO ENSURE THAT THEY HAD A FAIR TRIAL TO WHATEVER THE OUTCOME!

Even if they are a known pedophile? Nicki’s brother is.

this is just writing to a theme to me

a million songs are written in this regard

i think "pedo" is an astronomical stretch,, an otherworldly stretch and i was molested from 2 years old to six years old and i'm not sensitive to these lyrics whatsoever, good grief

like seriously don't come after me people,, so many classics and otherwise are written with this affect

im sorry but artistic expression and license i always getting thrown away,, idk whatever cancel me i guess. im tired of all this witch hunting........

I can't think of a modern song from the past decade that has these lyrics... or even before that... to the best of my memory...

Sorry that happened to you though 💔 I hope it hasn't had too many lasting painful after-effects

then again, r*ping children is a very extreme end of the spectrum too, mind you. Not all convicted pedophiles actually acted on that. I think most probably had ****ography or did a but of stalking.

Nicki's on the bottom end of this spectrum - I don't think she's necessarily a pedo, nor did she mean it. But her action with her brother and collaborating with 69 are very questionable and only serve to back up these lyrics...

Just want to say I went and listened to the whole song and it's even worse when you hear the full thing. The whole song is based on him being not old enough but wanting to be given a chance, so the fact Nicki thought it was ok for a grown woman to make innuendos on this song really speaks volumes. It doesn't matter if she was just joking or just writing around a theme, you don't do that when minors are involved. 16 is not legal in every state and even if it were, most people still consider relationships with 16 year olds to be out of line if you're notably older than them. In my country, it's 16 but I'd not support a 27 year old dating a 16 year old, nor would anyone else I know. I'm 30 and I'd struggle to even look at anyone with "teen" in their age in that way. Women also mature faster so when they're 27, and they think of a 16 year old, they don't think of something hot, they think inexperienced and immature, it's not something we'd find appealing. Nicki may not actually be doing anything inappropriate herself but she's sending terrible messages to her audience, which isn't much better.

I’ll never understand the “She paid for her brother in court” argument. If my sibling was in court for whatever reason I would help pay for their court bills to ensure that there is a fair trial wether that means they’re acquitted or convicted. She wasn’t present for whatever may or may not have taken place so I don’t get how y’all wanted her to just say “Yes my brother is a rapist I’m done with him”. Maybe you all don’t value family but others do. Can’t say I’m surprised to considering Remy is cited; a woman who spent years in jail for shooting a friend over money.

When it's something like that, you just have to stand back and let the evidence speak for itself. I think the fact he got convicted and his wife left him tells you all you need to know. Plenty of women stay with guilty men when such a thing happens, as crazy as that is, so if the woman leaves, you know that it must be true. I'm sure if anyone knows if he's truly guilty or not, it'll be his wife, so Nicki would've put money into defending a criminal. And does it matter what Remy went to jail for? It doesn't seem relevant in this situation.

"16 and 20 something" surely sounds way better than "16 and 27" :enigma:

I’m not sure if she was exactly 27 but we should not throw the word “p*do” around like it’s nothing because it’ll lead to people thinking it’s not as bad as it actually is.

The same way I didn’t understand why Remy’s statement about Nicki paying for her brother’s wedding was relevant. Of course the wife leaving could mean that she knew something but that doesn’t mean that Nicki should have just automatically believed and dropped him. If someone I grew up with and thought that I knew more than anyone else I would definitely want them to have a fair trial which would either see him acquitted or put behind bars. But for people to think that she shouldn’t have done that for me makes no sense. At the end of the day they’re siblings and her paying for his court bills doesn’t mean she doesn’t think he did what he did.

Maybe you need to read more because you don’t seem to understand what the term “Age of CONSENT means”

con·sent

noun

permission for something to happen or agreement to do something.

Just because 16 is the age of consent doesn’t mean that older people will try to have sex with much younger people. It depends on who people are and how they think. But at the end of the day without consent you can’t have sex with a 16 year old. The only bitchy one here was you who made that ignorant statement. You had a terrible experience that no one should have to but that doesn’t mean you can just go labeling people as pedophiles! I’m sure your “research” didn’t lead you to find out that these leaders are pedophiles. Sometimes it’s ok to say “my bad” or just say nothing at all.

im talking about why age of consent is so low and theres no other age restrictions. for example, 16 could be legal consent to an 18 year old but not to a 40 year old.

Im not ignorant and im dont owe you my life story over an online argument but i have more experience and knowledge on this topic dont try me.

On the same hand, I’m genuinely glad your life experience hasnt been shitty enough that you have the privilege to be ignorant in this topic
