My favorite on the album is Fun Tonight!

If I had to pick a least favorite I’d say Sour Candy, but I still thoroughly enjoy it.

The album has no skips! (Although to be fair, I don’t think any of her albums have skips).

A month ?! :saladga: Seems like it's been out since 2 days.

Anyway :

"Fun Tonight" is one of her best songs.

"Stupid Love", "Free Woman", "Fun Tonight", "Plastic Doll", "Enigma", "Love Me Right" and "1000 Doves" are HEAVILY underrated.

"911" is the "Heavy Metal Lover" of this album (electronic verses + smooth chorus + iconic bridge + crazy production + catchy melody).

"Love Me Right" is an incredible song and is NOT a skip.

"Rain On Me" will be a classic.

Every song is single worthy.

"Chromatica" is at the same level as "Born This Way" to me in term of consistency.

100% agreed

- It's kinda funny how Gaga had her 2012 dated electropop moment in 2020 with Sine From Above.

I don't meant it in a bad way, since I love and miss that sound so much and SFA is my second fave on the album, but you get what I mean... :vegas:

- Free Woman is super overrated. Nowhere near single material :air:

Sour Candy is good, but far and away one of my least favorites on the album

That Chromatica does have skips which include Stupid Love, Rain on Me, and Enigma! Oh and Love Me Right for the bonus edition.

Still waiting for ARTPOP Act II, Original LG5, Babylon Haus Labs version, etc.

1000 Doves isn't that bad

Babylon was overhyped

Stupid Love isn't lead-single worthy

Stupid Love music video is underrated

911 sounds like a super basic pop song... I don't get people calling it "experimental".... its still good tho.

Chromatica II to 911 is overrated, III to SFA is better

1000 Doves piano demo is like 10000 times better than the album version

“challenging” to the gp’s taste and even her fans

it doesn’t mean that it’s bad, as we’ve seen what happened with joanne when she tried to challenge us... but it’s also not good. to me gaga is all about experimenting, reinventing herself, inventing even. this album didn’t feel new or different from her recent work, or maybe i just expected it to be different.

I wouldn’t say it’s experimental. or that it’s crazy and weird like ARTPOP.

But still... it’s definitely new for Gaga. All of her pop music has for the most been very dark and heavy hitting. Chromatica is lighter and house inspired. She herself has never really made music with production like this album in general before. With the exception of Replay and 911.

Replay is a dud and one of the worst on the album.

Plastic Doll is easily top 4.

The transition between Chromatica II and 911 is nice but it's nothing groundbreaking.

Soft, soothing, and succulent

all the features seem weird.

elton should not have been on sine from above

sour candy as a concept is tacky and the beat was wasted. coulda been great.

alice in wonderland is a tacky theme

the lyrics in enigma’s verses are questionable

“im bouncing off the walls” is tacky

We've had the album coming up a month now so give me some of your unpopular opinions please x

I'll start with..

Plastic Doll is a bop with possibly the best chorus on the entire album and it needs to be appreciated more.

saw the title of the thread and wanted to write just that.

the TASTE! :legend:

also... rain on me <<< the rest of the album

- I'd replace Stupid Love with Perfect Illusion........but Stupid Love is one awesome standalone single that deserve #1 but not on the album.

- Free Woman supposed to be in the ACT II and replaces Plastic Doll.

- 911 is NOT a skip but a FILLER. It makes the album sounds even badass but it's actually just only a long interlude.

- 1000 Doves should be the album closer while Babylon should be somewhere around ACT II

- Fun Tonight is for Joanne and it'd be even better if the song is country.

Spoiler

My tracklist would be:

1. Chromatica I

2. Alice

3. Frankensteined

4. Rain On Me

5. Perfect Illusion

6. Fun Tonight

7. Chromalude

8. 911

9. Babylon

10. Sour Candy

11. Free Woman

12. Enigma

13. Replay

14. Chromatica III

15. Sine From Above

16. 1000 Doves

If Chromatica is "safe" then whats Joanne, ARTPOP, and The Fame/Monster?

Not derivative. Chromatica's sound is like a Party City Lady Gaga costume version of her music.
