Beethoven can be contested but anyone who thinks a Middle Eastern carpenter was Nordic looking is delusional

So if I'm understanding correctly he had some traits or ancestry? That sounds more like mixed than black

I don't consider someone black if they just have a little of the genes. That's like saying ur either pure white or not.

The way people that are more white than black still get called black or coloured is pretty racist if u think about it because it's basically saying if ur not pure white u can't be called white and u get lumped in the same category as full on blacks

For example was President Obama half white half black or something like that? He's both equally but most people don't call him mixed they call him black

The greatest way to show that you're ashamed of/disloyal to your race is if the accomplishments of your people aren't enough. Beethoven shouldn't be valued by an African and the fact that he was white shouldn't make them envious. They should be proud of their own figures and not try to make up nonsense like this. Is there a better example of self-inflicted "white supremacy" in action?

the theory is based on 1 article published in a school newspaper from a couple years ago, so yeah

nothing really points to him being black though, skin color varies a lot in europe anyway. some southern italians could easily pass for a middle-eastern looking guy f.e.

its very likely this isnt some kind of Jesus case where a brown/black person got whitewashed imo

Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

There are no historical accounts during his lifetime that refer to the composer as black or a “moor”, and the Viennese of the 18th and 19th Centuries were well aware of persons of African descent, referred to at the time as moors and mulattos, such as George Bridgetower, who was a famous violinist and creative collaborator of Beethoven’s. Also his family ancestry for at least several centuries into his past shows that for at least hundreds of years, he would be of Belgian (Flemish) and German descent.

Yeah I know same in Portugal (my background)

Some portuguese are as white as north Europeans (like my dad and one of my brothers), some white but not as white as Scandinavians (like me), some olive tone (like my mom) and some a light brown like middle easterns (like my youngest brother)

Literally in my household alone we have the entire spectrum of where Portuguese can lie :enigma:

Wasn't this a theory from a student website back in 2015? I wouldn't put much faith in it.

He was born almost 250 years ago, there's not going to be any solid evidence of his race. All there is to go off is from portraits which all depict him as white.

Eastern Mediterraneans are not black ?

Just by the demographics of the area, it's most likely that he had olive skin and dark brown hair.
