MelbHawker 6,583
You're entitled to your opinions, but comparing the vocals of Gaga during TFM to Dua with FN is just..
SHALLOW 16,383
Honestly I wouldn’t know. But i can say that whereas FN feels like a step forward, Chromatica feels like a step back so ...

They are the literal highlight of Chromatica. The only song where they get close to being what you described is Replay's chorus, but event that grew on me. Like sorry, love Dua, but this comment applies to Dua way more than Gaga This is kind of what I meant when I said I don't care for her, or Marina & Katy's tone (which all sound similar). Their voices have that thick, throaty sound no matter what they sing to my ears (which is why I'm surprised anyone would come for Gaga's voice when they love any of the three). Tho, I'll not be like OP & understand that's just my preference & not a general fact, especially for those who love them (& they do make some good music ). BabylonHooker 4,305
Sour Candy Gaga's vocal is perfection CHILE ! But I agree with you on the theatrical vocal especially on Stupid Love, Enigma and Replay but they still sound good and I listen to Chromatica every single day since the release GAGA IS MY LIFELINE
djBuffoon 12,115
Future Nostalgia is a pretty fantastic album. So is Chromatica, but the latter has a stronger perspective, more layered songwriting, gutsier vocals, and it's a deeper work altogether, in my opinion. LilyLark 10,091
It's perfectly fine if you prefer FN and Dua's vocals, but the fact that you think Dua's vocals are "objectively" better than Gaga is straight up delusional. And I say this as someone who likes Dua....For real, no one, from an objective standpoint, thinks Dua is a better vocalist than Gaga. I even remember some review from her first album pointing out her "smoky tone" helps her as some of her contemporaries, like Ariana, have more vocal strength. Her belts tend to be very strained. And I have no desire to. It's a great album and I love Dua...but the delulu level of thinking of OP that she comes close to Gaga's vocal strength is lol. Even the semi-critical reviews for Chromatica praised Gaga's vocals. If she prefers Dua's delivery and sound, that's fine, but it doesn't mean it is superior...Objective vs. subjective. For real, as much as I like Dua she's nowhere near Gaga, Ariana, Demi, Beyonce, etc. vocally. I'd even argue post 2012 Rihanna has stronger vocals as does Lana Del Rey. Now, Dua has the potential to strengthen her vocals but I doubt she'll come close to Ariana, Gaga, etc...well, ever.

Oyster 2,458
I will agree that FN sounded much better on first listen but I will say that Chromatica is much more of a grower and is a more solid album. I like it a lot more than FN now but it definitely takes some adjusting. I think it’s because FN is way more safe and made to be appealing whereas gaga takes more risks with the music and style but you come to appreciate that more in the long run. I'm okay if someone says he likes Duaa voice better when it comes to pop songs. Everyone does have different taste. I absolutely love Gagas theatrical voice in pop songs. For me she gives the songs a heart and soul and makes an unique song. FN ist unique. for me! I heard the first 8 songs and for me it was like I'm hearing a remix of dont start now and physical on repeat. Had to stop listening to FN cause I got bored. I'm not here to drag an artist or an artists work. It's my personal opinion that I think that Gagas work serves more quality.
windzo 765
FN is a great album and I am glad you love it. Personally I love Chromatica more and that's ok too. We all have different taste and likes. Keep on enjoying the music!
