It would've bridged the gaps between the HAC to POP Gaga era, and I think the GP would digest it straight away, as that's what they had heard from Gaga for the previous 3 years. On top of that, it would've fit for the season at the time, Feb/March. In the end she went for pure pop instead, with choreography, an Apple deal, and a bit of storytelling... Not to mention the homage to her old sound that was popular earlier this year (the 80's/90's with BL/Physical). It had the recipe to smash, but then i think its whole design and rollout was to be frontloaded, hence why the album and ROM was coming 4 weeks later. We are BOMBARDED by x100 summer singles (and the quality keeps dropping summer after summer) making it difficult for international artists to chart.
