My theory is that streaming from the playlist does nothing for the song's playlist position. Streaming outside the playlist makes it go higher.

that's not always the case for artists like Ari though. We've all seen a lot of Ariana's songs be automatically placed at the top 5 of many playlists and not budge an inch for a long time. This is why they are acting like this especially when the song is smashing right out of the gates like ROM. They are expecting it to remain top 5 in a lot of the major playlists for most of it's run right out of the gate.

That's only because Ariana has been putting out massive hits recently. Of course "7 rings" would get better playlist positions than "I'll Never Love Again."

"Rain On Me" was #1 on TTH the second it came out and is still #6 a month later despite almost having dropped out of the top 10. If anything, it should be lower.

It should not be lower :rip: Spotify doesn't base data on BB charts

I'm just tired of this "Gaga's team/label aren't good" narrative. Gaga literally shares a marketing director (and like half of her team) with Billie Eilish.

Yea that's a **** narrative though :billie:

Who would believe Gaga's team is incompetent? :rip:

I do believe that Interscope has a better relationship with Apple than with Spotify :billie:

Republic also has a better relationship with radio stations :rip:

I'm not saying it should mirror the Hot 100, but Rain On Me is not a massive hit yet. "Savage" is a monster smash, and it's 1 spot lower.

All I'm saying is that Rain On Me's playlist positions are great and Twitter stans have no idea what they are talking about.

of course. I don't think I hinted anywhere that we should expect Gaga's songs to slay playlisting right off the bat compared to someone like Ari. In my opinion ROM's playlisting is actually amazing and as I already stated is her best playlisting ever. I'm just trying to find an explanation for why Arianators on twitter have been complaining and a lot of that is in fact as I stated (and as you are agreeing with); because Ari has had fantastic playlisting where her songs debut top 5 in most big playlists and stay there for a lonnnggg time before being shuffled down a few spots and then going back at the top 5 etc...obviously its because her songs are massive streaming hits. But the point is the Arianators may expect the same for ROM because it did so well from the start.

Rain On Me's playlist positions aren't great :rip:

No it shouldn't be lower on TTHs that's a global playlist, ROM not being top 10 on US Spotify doesn't matter because its stayed glued to #4 WW for weeks now... The TTHs position is right for ROM

Spotify gives you the initial chance and if you continue to fall you go down the corresponding playlist - you have to stay stable whether that's at 4m streams everyday or 2m

When Sour Candy kept getting moved down TTHs, it was cause it was falling everyday, not the other way round.

I'd expect ROM to get good positions later on... the song proves itself first, then is able to get a boost. It only entered top 10 on HHUK last week after spending days at #2 on UK Spotify

Stare at the Chartster in the mirror they talk to me too. #StreamFunTonight
