FfFfFfFF 58,117 Posted June 16, 2020 Share Posted June 16, 2020 Colchester Zoo is preparing for its grand reopening later this week, and there will be a number of new arrivals you won't have seen before. That's because the zoo welcomed five new born cheetah cubs during lockdown on April 15. Zoo staff were given the chance to name the male cub and they went for Colonel Tom, after the war veteran who raised more than £32million for the NHS. Although the zoo will be opening again on Thursday (June 18) the public won't yet be able to see the cubs when they visit the zoo. The arrival of the cubs was one of many births which happened at the zoo during lockdown - including a baby pygmy hippo, a Tamandua, and three bush dog pups.
