Her couture was DIVINE but her RTW was forgettable and her branding didn’t land. I feel sorry for her but I guess she’s better off in a smaller brand.

The branding was indeed questionable. ( ie. ariana grande)
Speaking of smaller brands, she was perfect at Chloé and should’ve stayed there longer.

As for Matthew, He’s proven himself to be a capable creative director (Miles better than Virgil & KVA ) and I’m actually looking forward to his debut collection. The fashion curias are already seething with this news and i hope they are proven wrong.

I am so weak for him. No doubt the only one she's ever dated that I can say I want for myself. I wish him all the luck. I love what they created together and was devastated it didn't last.

YES! I find it ironic that most who are seething are the young fashion people who often complain about the “old guards”. If Matthew plays his cards well and go beyond the Alyx vocabulary it might be worth something. I hope he won’t do couture like how Riccardo did and just be brave with it.

I really don’t get the KVA hype except that he was hired for DH because he was Hedi’s #2. He just diluted Hedi’s work when he was at Dior Homme.

If he wants to be strategic and efficient. He should integrate couture nuances in his collections. Similar to what Kim Jones is doing at Dior Homme and Demna at Balenciaga.  85% RTW and 15% Couture.  Given the current climate of the industry, this is the most realistic model for him and also the fact that he has never done couture.  It’s safe and economical at the same time.

KVA floated in Dior for 9 years and served nothing but banality. He knows how to cut a suit but the intent and execution are mostly déja vu. :rip:

I actually liked what Kim did last (or was it before that) season. He did two shows and one was “couture” and the other pure RTW. Givenchy isn’t in that position but I’m confident that like what you said that might be the strategy. Now the question is if his concepts would resonate.

I don’t know why LVMH let Dior Homme rot for the better part of last decade. His position at Berluti seems to be just gratuity.

Roversi shot it it’s gorgeous and might be an indication to his direction for Givenchy.

oh, i saw it when i went to check his shirtless photo :billie:

and i sure think the Roversi image is an indication, and if we dissect the shapes he uses on ALYX, it got that 90's minimalism vibe too... i'm excited but on the other hand i really loved Clare's collections
