I like Sour Candy, but as a “duet” it’s disappointing compared to ROM/SFA

see I don’t get this, Beyoncé can be heard all throughout Telephone after her verse. She even does background vocals on the last chorus or two. Unless it’s because she does background vocals that she’s a feature and it’s not a duet? But then why is Hey Girl a feature when they literally go back and forth throughout the entire song? That seems like more of a duet than Rain On Me 

this is giving me Madame X flashbacks. Medellín, Crave, and Future all say “with Maluma/Swae Lee/Quavo” in Medellín, they do go back and forth singing. But the other two it’s just background adlibs & vocals before and after their verses... exactly like B!tch I’m Loca and Faz Gostoso which are credited as features  

I actually didn’t notice bey doing background vocals on any of the choruses, but maybe she does I’ll have to relisten.

Agreed. I love the song, but the collab seems a little separated. It reminds me of the time Ariana apparently had a list of other possible features for The Light is Coming before letting Nicki put a verse on it (and she just disappeared after the intro). Gaga's part in SC sounds like a bridge she came up with and turned it into a song by having the BP feature. It's a short fun song though, so I don't think it's meant to be a straight up duet like ROM or SFA.

I never noticed her either but I was listening to this entire thing one time

and Beyoncé did record chorus vocals. But it could’ve been a thing like Fashion! & MJH where there’s stems that weren’t in the song too  

edit: I found a shorter video that only has Beyoncé’s acapella vocals
