Alice was the perfect lead

It’s miles better from Stupid Love and the GP would love it. Plus it was the perfect example of dancing through the pain

I disagree.

I'm one of the only people on here who finds it a little overrated and the second verse is not my cup of :tea:

I love it though

Absolutely not. I'm not sure where gays get the idea that Alice is remotely close to single material. It's a great song and a club banger but it's just not something radios would touch with a 12' pole.

Alice maybe had a sliver of a chance in 2015/early 16 when house pop was a thing and even then it's a stretch.

The music is too out there to be considered radio friendly.

Would it go #1 on the Danceclub charts? Yes. But then so did Til It Happens To You. :vegas:

yes and

You never know what GP would be into.
The song is quite dark and reminds me of MTN a lot, so it's hard to say.
Anyway, we got #5 with SL and #1 with ROM, so be happy

Did you think I'd show up in a limousine? No

would it have a good music video? Sure! Gaga arriving on a new planet, stranded, going back and forth between "take me home" and "take me to Wonderland" at first and then realizing she can make her own Wonderland and call it home so she says "take me home to wonderland". And then she arrives at the desert scene spreading kindness for Stupid Love. And that somehow has a continuation into ROM. Then she relives past pain in Replay. Finally climbs up into Wonderland which is their heaven in Babylon.

But the world isn't perfect, is it? :vegas:

Guys lets just agree that she should release every song as a single and create a full visual album set on planet Chromatica

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Enigma could've also been the opening song if the album concept had been slightly different. :) Maybe if the album was called Lady Gaga like it was rumored to last year, Enigma could've made a good opener :firega:

The lead isn't Alice

But you keep on living keep on living in delululand

SL is a good lead, was just unlucky, was leaked and was released too late directly into the pandemic

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

Doesn’t the song only have one verse though? :billie:

Well according to Genius, the second verse is the robotic part

"Sick and tired of waking up
Screaming at the top of my lungs
Think I might've just left myself behind
Maestro, play me your symphony
I will listen to anything
Take me on a trip, DJ, free my mind"

I think Free Woman would've been a good lead single. It represents the album's sound and themes way better than Stupid Love, while still being catchy and radio friendly.

It wouldn't have been a big hit, but maybe Europe would've been more welcoming to it since it's a sound they usually like, and the US performance would probably be very similar to SL's at least.

That always felt like the bridge to me! But now you mention it... the song does have a really weird structure. Definitely doesn't feel like a verse to me though
