Big business or not, it was not their stuff to shoplift

 

And everyone pays for that. Shoplifting losses are factored in to pricing of goods in case u didnt know. These looters are stealing from other people too

 

I'm obviously gonna feel more sorry for a mom and pop shop getting looted or vandalized cuz that's their livelihood. Not the case with a Walmart. But it doesn't mean I think it's ok either or to act like it's nothing or ok to do

I mean, in all fairness, most of those corporations are stealing from their employees in the form of wage theft and wage suppression.  They also steal from the 99%  by lobbying for and capitalizing off of tax loopholes and other purchased legislative preferential treatment. They’re also contributing to economic injustice domestically and globally by outsourcing manufacturing to 3rd world countries to capitalize on slave labor. The Walton family and many others owe a huge ****ing debt to society.

Small businesses first of all don't pay their workers anymore than large businesses do. U can argue that they could be more generous but given they aren't paying them less than other businesses I think wage theft is a strong word

 

I do not approve of many of the things some Corporations stand for but I also don't believe 2 wrongs make one right

 

Stealing is stealing. I can't justify it just because the entity they are stealing from has morality issues themselves

 

Society keeps justifying more and more things. People talk about greed at the top but the attitude of entitlement definitely has trickled down a lot

First off, I’m clearly talking about multinational corporations like WalMart, so throwing small businesses in is disingenuous at best; small businesses seldom get bailed out because they don’t have enough money to line the pockets of legislators. WalMart absolutely steals wages from their employees. They extort them for labor, pay them the bare minimum, then rake in exorbitant wealth hand over fist and don’t pay their fair share in taxes. That is theft twice over. 
 

  I love that you have the audacity to say poor people are entitled when these corporations legitimately exploit poor people and keep them in a system that they rewrite the rules to in order to keep people economically oppressed. It is not even remotely a fair fight, but people like you are out here doing the dirty work of the Walton family by shaming people for calling them out for being corrupt.

 

Ideally, no one would be stealing. I’m not arguing in favor of stealing. However, I think the argument is a bit more complicated than “STEALING BAD” when clearly there are larger systemic roots here that are not solved by one sided, complacent rhetoric.

Just because I don't approve of what people are doing doesn't mean I'm defending the bad things Corporations do either

 

Ppl are always so black and white with things like if one side is in the wrong the other must be in the right

 

I don't think Corporations being greedy doesn't automatically mean people can't be entitled. A poor person can still have an entitled attitude

 

U say ur not arguing in favour of stealing yet ur first comment was basically implying it was no big deal because it's Walmart. So that suggests a certain degree of justifying what they are doing
