That is not expensive. Especially it comes with a brand. There's no shirts costing $10, even hottopic sells their shirts for $20ish, and walmart sells t-shirts $15. When you have to spend $500-$1,000 for one t-shirt just liek what Gucci or YSL sold, now that is expensive. Just be realistic.

Do you realize they make those clothes around 1/2 bucks per piece in the third world country? Do you realize how they are stealing from you?

Zara is one of the cheapest brands in Spain but not as cheap as Bershka or Primark. I was shocked when I saw it being actually quite expensive when I visited the US. The same tshirt being sold in Spain for 10€ was 20$ in LA.

But we are not living in there, what's available where we live just costs that much and it is still low priced for our standards. The higher a country's median income is means the higher the cost for their needs, I am sure you learn that in Economy class, don't you? I am sure you can also argue that houses is much more cheaper where you live, or cinema tickets, or other things, but prices are always set by how high a median income is.

200 eu for a blazer that is often badly cut with the seams all wrong, fabrics and manufacturing that last one season, also colors that fade away. Ofcourse this isn't so much about a blazer, cause you dont wash it.

I have one that i bought that cost 120 5 years ago, it's still kinda nice, because im very careful and use it sparely. But it's really badly sewn as most of the pieces. I dont buy anything there anymore.

Just for a perspective, a tailor would do same job for just more 50 eu and it would be a piece for life. And here in Italy that are less expensive brands that go same price wish are hundred time better. 

200 dollar in USA or 150 in spain/italy/pt is a lot for something that they spent nothing to do.

I feel really sorry for the people who will loose their job, but I'd be glad if these companies fall down, the clothing industry is one of the most polluting. The last thing this world need is more clothes produced

People bought clothes from fast fashion shops never meant it to be worn for long time. Most people want to just buy new clothes, wear them for a while, then throw them away. Either donating it, handing it down to fam and friends, or gave it away to thrift shops. This is because modern standards can't let people wear things twice without being shamed. Especially in public school and work place that allows their employees to wear freely, no need for suit and ties or uniform anymore. This way people then pressured to look best each time when they go to work.

I understand all that. Maybe the argument was unecessary. But the thing is the raincoats, blazers etc. are basically the same every season and they are really really badly constructed. Zara has some of the laziest tailoring, badly cut, imperctions around the shoulders. 

So, objectively speaking it's really overpriced. And you shouldnt compare to Hugo Boss, but probably something in between. But even if you compare a Hugo Boss blazer that costs 600 eu...just because, since it shouldnt cost more than 300 eu... at least it will have good cut, will look good not because youre cute, be comfortable and wont rug so easily.

Zara prices 20 yrs ago were half of today. They're inflated, because they became a housename. For trash, that is. Wannabe fashion brand imitating other designs

OT. Not a big Zara fan but i can't help feeling bad for all the staff that used to work on the stores. I always found them funny. Running around w their little radios all important, like mini Anna Wintours in the making. Here in MX is one of the cheapest too

Closing 1200 = absorbing smaller shops into larger ones. They mention keeping staff and allocating different roles plus also opening 450 new stores which likely will also be large and online too
