You read that right. The highest grossing entertainment product of all time is set to be released a 4th time next year for the PS5 & Xbox Series X. This will be the third consecutive console generation that the game will be available on. GTA5 was previously released for PS3 & Xbox 360 in September 2013, PS4 & Xbox ONE in November 2014, and PC in April 2015.

The announcement has also brought a lot of negative reception from fans who see the rerelease as a cash grab

A stand-alone version of the game’s online multiplayer, GTA Online, will also be released next year.

Watch the announcement trailer that uses scenes from old trailers released in 2011-2013 below

Will this be your first time buying? Will you be buying again? How many times have you bought the game before? I’ve bought it twice.

2013...God, I forget how old this game is (relatively speaking, of course).

is gta6 never happening?

It took them 10 years to make RDR2, a big step up from GTAV imo. I’m sure it’ll take longer for GTA6.

I really love this game but this is such a dumb cash grab :saladga: also can’t believe the gullible gamers that are buying multiple copies of this game....

That's why they gave it away on Epic Store. They wanted to attract people who never played it and those who did but didn't own the game, so they can buy the "enhanced version" next year. Pathetic.

I wish they would make it available for Mac users :nails:

This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare.

We love a franchise :poot:

Though at this point the franchise is just the one game for the last seven years :poot:

I uninstalled GTAV in favor of Fallout 76 when it was stupidly discounted. Ain't paying full price for garbage :lolly:

I'm just like 🧍‍♂️

This is so ridiculous and unnecessary :fail: what is even the point of having improved hardware if the games will stay the same :toofunny::nails:

I’m super conflicted with this. :neyde: This game is cursed. Ever since it’s release, things started going downhill for Rockstar and they seemed to care more about money than anything else.

example: in 2015, Rockstar stopped adding online content to single player mode. Eventually, players discovered a glitch to load those online vehicles & weapons to single player. Sometime later, Rockstar created a script for the game. The sole purpose of said script is to despawn any online exclusive content that’s spawned into single player

It’s blatantly obvious that they want you to play online and buy micro transactions aka “shark cards” ... where you pay real life money for in game money. These shark cards are how the game became the highest grossing entertainment product ever. The first couple billion dollars came from people buying the game for all their consoles, the next several billion are from people who don’t want to grind for hours when they can just buy a shark card :huntyga: it’s a rigged system. Personally, I think these micro transactions are the death of GTA, the death of Rockstar, and the death of gaming in general as they are present in almost every game out there now. Heck, even the Rockstar cofounder who’s written every story for every game the last 15-ish years resigned this year. He knows... he... knows...

But after a hurricane comes a rainbow. The announcement that GTA Online will FINALLY be recognized as a separate game and not part of GTA5 brings me some hope that GTA6 will be 100% single player and GTA Online will update itself with every new map for every new game or whatever, I really don’t care about online. But another (more likely, let’s face it) possibility is that there won’t even be GTA 6 or 7 or 8 or so on and their focus will be on updating GTA Online with a new map, or new vehicles etc. Ugh

RIP Rockstar Games 1997-2012. Some (but not all) great Rockstar titles before greed took over: Bully (2007), GTA IV (2008), Red Dead Redemption (2010), Max Payne series (2001-2012), GTA San Andreas (2004), GTA Vice City (2002), Red Dead Redemption II (2018 literally their last good game. Had so much potential to be perfect, but of course, online multiplayer greed ruined it)

Fallout 76? :oprah: are they the ones who gave out really nice quality bags to youtubers for free at E3 but gave literal trash bags to people who spent $100+ on the collectors edition? :oprah: and had a super buggy game at launch that’s also full of pay to win stuff? I wouldn’t even take that game for free :selena:
