It's NOT the right thing to do, and I know what the "defund" police means but it's still a stupid way of saying it and cutting their money isn't going to help anything. My idea is to cut the funding of the police as we currently know it by some significant amount, put that money into communities in a more useful way while we figure out what exactly the new system will look like. No police officers will be terrible and crime will go way up and only the rich will be safe with private bodyguards. What I think should happen is more educational requirements for police officers. They need to have a more holistic mindset to understand how their actions can have certain, negative effects on people. In addition, we should put more money into deescalation tactics, rehabilitation for minor crimes, etc. And not all police officers need to have such intense equipment either. trolly troll troll Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
