Supersonic 49,376
It's almost as if the British government had defunded the NHS to the point of them collapsing and being completely overwhelmed by a global pandemic, which has now caused a chain reaction of serious diseases getting spotted as early as they should have been. I'm not sure that this is only happening in UK. In a lot of places, what wasnt considered an emergency was ignored.

"What wasnt considered an emergency was ignored". If those countries had spent more time & money in the public health sector, maybe it would not have come so far that doctors would have had to chose between treating Covid-19 or treating cancer (because there would have been enough resources to treat both). Unless of course you believe the illogical conspiracy theory of temporary lockdowns in general not being effective against rapidly spreading viral diseases. audrey horne 1,180
The anti-lockdowns propaganda, thread 43525. Complete denial edition. The public health sector is being destroyed for years in Europe and basically all around the world in favor of private interests, profits and saving money over efficiency, equity and lives. Who do you think you're fooling?

Well, at least on this subject I've saw many articles about doctors who had a limited activity during these months. Outside places like Italy, I dont think that different specialists went to treat covid patients.

Who do you think you're fooling? I didnt take it as that. In in UK and have had to wait months longer to have an ulcer removed from my stomach (which could kill me if it burst again). I cant imagine what it has been like for people with cancer

I cant imagine what it has been like for people with cancer That's exactly the point of the article. Implying that lockdowns are the main cause for extended delays to get any care appointment when it's been a reality for years for the very reasons explained above. I'm sorry to learn about your situation which is sadly a result of a continuous deterioration of the public health system.

I get what you are saying, but the reason in my case was the lockdown because my appointment was originally in april. The NHS has been going to **** for a while now tho yes
