LOL if you think these award shows give that meaning to the urban categories. So is it city music? :ladyhaha:

Urban categories are an excuse to not award black artists in main categories. So they are relegated to the urban categories, they get nominated for the main ones, but they rarely win them, only the urban ones. It’s pretty much segregation, they might as well just call them the “black categories”. I’m glad they’re finally updating.

How does renaming urban to something else make a difference in terms of the problem you present yourself ?

Problem you present: There are separate categories used as an excuse/consolation prize for black artists so that grammys do not have to not give black artists many wins in main grammy categories.

What do you think that changing the names of the category will change in terms of the purpose you think these categories currently serve ?

How about making the ceremony more inclusive for songs and albums in other languages too and not have the songs from latin artists separated  in a whole other awards show?

Maybe you’re not aware of it but there is the Latin Grammy! It includes music from all different languages from Latin America
