Franch Toast 27,737
I hardly ever drank Starbucks before this (don't care for the taste of their coffee), but I have empathy for the employees, especially the baristas. I hope my local mom-and-pop coffeeshop where I often go to work (I work freelance) makes it through this. Maybe Starbucks needs to bring back its most successful employee: She/Her/Hers

Because every Starbucks I’ve been to/seen during the pandemic has been extremely busy Sucks how many jobs are affected but they’re also opening new stores with a to-go/curbside pick model which is great! This is our new reality and, if god forbid, they’d be ready for any future outbreaks once COVID passes.

My local shop is so cozy, and a lovely place to work, especially in the winter: there's a fireplace, sofas, soft upholstered chairs, as well as various small tables, and then the high-top tables with stools where I usually work, my favorite place being the corner by the fireplace. They have free help-yourself refills on coffee and tasty food (salads, sandwiches, and soups), and their bathrooms are clean and spacious and have a table where I can place my laptop while I use the facilities. They transitioned to take-out only during our shelter-in-place order. Restaurants can now reopen for dine-in here, but I obviously don't see the need to expose myself to covid by working in a public place when I can work at home and make my own coffee or tea and be safe. I might stop by this week and do some take-out though just to show them my support, and maybe I'll buy a gift card for future use and some coffee grounds or tea to brew at home to help them out now. RAMROD 117,004
That is sad. Sad for everyone involved. Especially those got unemployed. Hope they will find another job soon. There are a lot business closing down in my area too. Even the legendary places that were known for generations. Which is really sad, cos they are not just clubs or restaurants for some. But also second home, and a culturally significant venues. I believe it will be smaller Sbux in smaller towns that get closed down. As far as for my own, I am sure I will still able to visit Starbucks in my area. I came so often, the baristas already know what my usual was, and would ask and prepare it as soon as I get in. Unless I tell them I wanna another beverage that time. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ ᶠʳᵒⁿᵗ ᵗᵒʷᵃʳᵈ ᵉⁿᵉᵐʸ (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

COVID prevented both to extreme degrees so it makes sense they’d suffer more than others. Yes, exactly my point. Smaller, perhaps even non-corporate businesses might be effected harder. For Starbucks, they're really just losing profits/investments on these specific locations. For competitors, their owners/workers could be losing their livelihood (those working paycheck-to-paycheck, etc.). dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1! SevenWonder 4,743
This sucks. I am sort of addicted to Starbucks coffee and have missed it SO much. I hope my local one stays open. But maybe the silver lining is that smaller coffee shops can open and make it?
