That's truly insane. If COVID-19 has effected STARBUCKS this much, imagine what it's doing to less popular chains, or even local businesses at that.....

Good. It's an evil company which distribute unhealthy products widely, has slave labor involved and uses massive tax evasion techniques.

Be Free

I work for Starbucks. From what I can tell, most of the stores that are closing are going to be small cafe stores. I urge everyone seeing this to be KIND to your baristas, corporate is cutting our labor and overworking us.  I cant even explain how much a small act of kindness can make our whole day in these hard times.

EDIT: Please don't forget that even though corporate is EVIL, the people who actually work are humans who barely get paid above minimum wage.

Does nothing for me because I don’t really buy anything from there, but I do feel bad for the people that will be out of a job now.

Well it’s important to bear in mind that 1) there are so many Starbucks that they already cannabalized each other to a degree

2) most people would grab Starbucks for work related things or on the go. COVID prevented both to extreme degrees so it makes sense they’d suffer more than others.

These are the stores that lack a drive thru or are placed in shopping centers/aren’t standalone buildings right?

The real story behind this news is that  the number of business owners has dropped a lot because of the restrictions.

Dont worry. Amazon and co will take their place. I guess some people ignored all those  warnings about the economic effects. :triggered:
