Good for her. She brought A LOT of incredible looked over Black talent to Lion King: The Gift so if she keeps that up think of all the wonderful visibility and new platforms these creatives will get.

EDIT: The Gift didn't flop because it wasn't good music, it actually was rated pretty well. It flopped because it was bizarre marketing. There's a soundtrack and whole other album inspired by the movie? But then they won't really use Beyoncé to market what basically was her project (since she was the director of that album)? I think y'all aren't seeing things the way Disney does. There's a lot of potential in attaching Beyoncé to a project, they just need to simplify things. If she does the BP soundtrack, that would honestly be more up her alley anyway rather than some side thing that isn't super communicated as to what it is. ASIB, BP, both soundtracks really emphasized the involvement of the artist around it. I mean, Gaga's clout was big but not Beyoncé-level when she did ASIB's soundtrack. So if I am Disney, I'm looking at this as an opportunity to attach a very bankable name to a project that has proven track records of success (big artists attached to movie soundtracks) and we kind of flubbed the last thing we stuck her on. The Gift just had a weird marketing proposition and then was promoted similarly strangely. The content itself was not really the issue. People will see and be interested in BP2 already so putting Beyoncé's weight behind it as well can't hurt it so long as they actually *use* the music from the album in the movie.

Yeah, because The Lion King soundtrack was such a success :awkney: That deal is low-key incomprehensible, but go off Disney.

Idc about that. All I know is that it was one of Disney's greatest remakes and actually it's highest grossing movie and it was enjoyable. Stop ruining entertainment for yourselves based on charts and critics.

Well I’m a journalist myself and I couldn’t give two shits about the money it made. It’s a pathetic, soulless remake that completely disrespects the magic of the original movie. I’m glad that the critics agree with me.

The soundtrack was an abysmal flop, that's why it's weird to see Disney allegedly getting out of their way to secure more Beyoncé collaborations.

I guess it's a matter of taste then. Maybe you're not a TLK fan to begin with.
