Plastic Doll, Say Something Nice

Both lyrically and sonically, it's a bit of **** you which is great - by being a satire of standards of expectation relating to her old "Fame" self. The robotic stutter is exaggerated just enough for one to question if Gaga's probably being ironic. Lyrically, the bridge epitomises the message of the entire song by satirising "yasss Gaga" expectations of her à la complaints about Joanne, the shunning of her emotive state and a general **** you to shallow expectations.

One of the only songs on the album that showcase her vocal ability.

Only? :what:

Alice, Rain On Me, Fun Tonight, Sour Candy, Enigma, Replay, SFA, 1000 Doves all showcase a different aspect of her voice very well

It’s like perfect?

Why on earth would anyone have a hard time saying something nice about this song??

(And I’m a person who’s musical taste in general aligns closer with Joanne/ASIB’s sound)

It got eliminated so quickly in the Chromatica survivor games and generally everyone shits on it :bradley: i'm glad I made this thread bc i didn't know so many had nice things to say

I personally think it’s one of the best songs in the album. And visually it would be a treat to do

It’s a really cute katy perry song sung by Gaga.

That’s actually the point. Gaga always channels other strong female singers. She always plays tribute. There are more than one songs on Chromatica that do this. That’s always been Gaga. But there is more depth when Gaga sings, she is more rock then bubblegum

I was initially disappointed coz I wanted more skrillex almost like Face My Fears level... but then I remember Gaga isn’t Utada. She is Gaga. Always gives me the unexpected.

I like the imagery in the lyrics and I think it would make a cute music video in the style of Aqua’s Barbie Girl. :gaycat:

The chorus is nice, I love the "I'M NOT YOUR PLASTIC DOLL" part, but that's it

i know i'll get dragged for this but it's the last track on my Chromatica ranking and it's always a skip

don't @ me please, it's just my opinion about the song, which I know is different from y'all opinion

the song has a really deep and powerful message, the lyrics are really sad/empowering and i love her voice but the production is kind of meh to me

maybe i got my hopes too high when I heard skrillex worked on it but I expected something totally different from it

it might grow on me, tho, just like every song did
