Bon Appétit did not pay its POC employees for video appearances

Assistant editor of Bon Appétit Sohla El-Waylly has called out the magazine on her Instagram stories. According to her stories, all of Bon Appétits POC personalities that appear on screen are not compensated for their on-screen appearances on the BA's YouTube channel, while all of her white colleagues are. She also accuses the magazine of pushing her in front of the camera for performative diversity, without offering her equal pay.

Some of her white colleagoes, such as Alex Delany, Carla Lalli Music & Molly Baz have come out to publically support her and stated, they will refuse to appear in any further BA videos, until their POC colleagues get equal pay. Andy Barhagani has also come out in support of Sohla
