Hybrid AT 78
We all have our favorites but how many times have you felt the need to go to listen to just her song instrumentals after hearing a song? Has it ever happened to you that you were able to appreciate a song more after listening to the instrumental only, minus the vocals and the lyrics? This is a space to share your favorite Gaga instrumental(s) and your reasons why you like them, what sonic elements you appreciate, what were some elements you discovered after multiple listens, any memories that you have about listening to the instrumental the first time, any thoughts related to the production etc. For me, in no particular order: 1. Marry The Night The opening bells, the buzzing synths that kick in at 0:14, the thumping beat that starts at 0:40, the beat under the bridge section, and then the last minute. Whew. The instrumental has its own muscle. It perfectly encapsulates the hustler vibe of the lyrics and it's energetic and explosive. Dark, complex production. 2. The Edge of Glory This is pop euphoria at its best. Anthemic, brimming with joy, larger than life. The opening heartbeat sound effect, the ho, ho's that become muted once the beat kicks in but run throughout the song, the strings on the chorus, the sax solo (obviously) but also the sax section that starts from 4:32 that isn't so clear with her vocals on top, the outro with the buzzing beat. It's a gorgeous, big, fat slice of pop perfection from start to finish. 3. Perfect Illusion The opening guitars, the electronic bells, the little sound effect that feels like it's traveling between your ears from right to left on the chorus (listen closely) , the drums in this song, especially the bridge, the key change (!!!), and the final section of the song from 2:37 until the end. This song makes me feel so many things. It's raging with so much of unbridled passion and energy, like it wants to break free from its chains. Disco-rock-pop stunner. (Fun fact: the key change that occurs at 1:51 is at the Golden Ratio spot for the song) https://www.classicfm.com/discover-music/music-theory/lady-gaga-perfect-illusion-key-change/ If you also like to geek out over her instrumentals and the parts that make them, feel free to share some of your favorite Gaga instrumentals here and any thoughts that you might have about them "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. donatellab 2,476
Easily one of my favourite instrumentals from her. So powerful, so energetic and makes me want to let out all the anger and dance til i’m frustrated and can’t stand anymore. And that f*cking key change ARTPOP’s instrumental and the song overall make me feel like i’m hypnotised and relaxed. I’ve been shook ever since i first heard it, such a masterpiece. It gives me really positive energy and makes me confident and shift onto another dimension. I love SL’s instrumental. I often listen to the instrumental instead of the official song, just to enjoy the bass. I love the 80’s vibe that the instrumental gives me. A lot of people here dislike SL, but i’ve been bopping to it ever since it leaked. SL isn’t even one of my favourite songs from Chromatica, but there’s just something so nostalgic and magical about the instrumental to me. I think it’s really interesting and different. Joanne is such a simple yet beautiful instrumental In scheiße, I never heard the whirring sound effect starting from 0:20 as clearly with vocals on top it's like somebody is spinning something MANiCURE is so good too. Goes harder without the vocals with its full electro-rock vibe "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. They are my family, this is my home and you are not welcome here." Head Empty 25,147
Seriously underrated: The moment those bass synths kick in is SO powerful. Not to mention that subtle buildup throughout the song. One of her most minimalistic yet effective instrumentals of all time. Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺

Yaaasss the PI love!!! Aahh, taste ARTPOP is such a hypnotic and ethereal production. It's so trippy and the violins in the song are just beautiful. There are also some small touches throughout the song that give it that futuristic, intergalactic feel (starting 0:56, and then from 2:00 -2:06) like some extraterrestrial life force is trying to communicate with me in their language or something I wish she would have kept the hee hee's as loud as the iTunes Festival And SL like you said, it's very boppy. The 80s vibes, and dd-dd-dd-dd beat throughout the song and the pre-chorus bass. Oof. Some of her cleanest productions for sure "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. They are my family, this is my home and you are not welcome here."

There's something about the crooked synths that makes the song powerful. It was a risky production choice to pair the synths with the piano but I think Rubin did a fine job and it paid off well tbh. He let the piano and her voice shine more by keeping the rest of the production minimal. Idk why people hate Dope so much, maybe bc of the deep vocals but it's an amazing song. The pain in there "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends. They are my family, this is my home and you are not welcome here." Hybrid AT 78
Another gorgeous instrumental: Fashion! (ARTPOP) SEVERELY UNDERRATED Instantly makes you feel good, very feathery, airy, light production, the opening piano chords are EVERYTHING and the piano on bridge is very dramatic The buildup before the outro >>> "I was protected by the monks of Azarath, I was raised by my friends.
