I can understand limiting testing and there by leaving the real infection rate a mystery, because it can get expensive to test everyone. This however is a bit iffy. If the info is available might as well publish it or people might not take it as seriously.

@Admin, you just can't let this post pass because it's Brazilian eh?

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

It’s actually a good healthcare system, maybe you just know very little about it. The government’s politics fail to live up to the great healthcare system we have here.

And yeah the whole country is a mess and I’m not going to try to defend it. Bolsonaro is incredibly unprepared and unprofessional and unethical at this point

To a certain degree, I understand and agree with this. Here in Italy we had (and still have) the same problem. Our numbers are not 100% accurate, because we didn't test all the population, even today it is not easy to get tested.

Not to mention the mass of asymptomatics that will never be discovered. So yes, in the end these numbers are only partial and don't have much meaning.

For a few days the numbers of new cases here in Italy have been low only because few tests were done, not because the virus was disappearing.

Obviously you can't test everyone. But you can for sure record the death tolls... I mean if they are planning to only disclose the recovered cases, it sounds like propaganda to make the government sound good (no deaths, only recoveries!!).

Sorry, I don’t understand what this means. If people are dying at the rates they are dying in Brazil, the healthcare system isn’t good.

The Brazilian healthy system in “theory” would be one of the bests in the world, but unfortunately it doesn’t work because of corruption and politicians don’t even care about population, also our people is very manipulated and uneducated. Hope it can change someday.

What is the funding?

Ppl talk a lot about different systems and criticize one system vs another based on performance and forget the amount of funding matters a lot too

It's like how in Canada our wait times for certain things are longer than in the US and some conservatives like to point to that to prove how universal care is a failure...

But those people totally ignore the fact that the US system spends almost twice per capita as our system. If we chose to spend as much per capita as the US in our system, that slower issue wouldn't exist but we don't like to run big deficits like the US... But the point is the budget matters not just the system

Like...  Way to change to lighter tone but bringing a not very positive topic. Theres also many juicy butties because so many implant them.  I dont think you meant wrong but really brasil is bit more than that.

Say really nice people with strong will would sound so much better avoiding an off topic.

Ot: disgusted but predictable. Worries so much.

Covid19 is a completely unusual situation though. The healthcare system, how it was conceived, the laws and the assistance to the people is great, but it couldn’t provide much for such a crisis. Brazil is about to become the country with the most cases around the world and it has more to do with our terrible government/ president than our healthcare. i don’t want to sound cocky or anything. I have graduated and actually work with it...

Common sense? Are you going to argue the fact that Russia and Brazil are less developed countries than the US?
