I SAID WHAT I SAID. Both versions of 1000 Doves are good. Also one of the best songs on the album. Free Woman album version is 1000x better than the demo. Love Me Right sounds like Ally (but it’s so good) Babylon would have been much better with the Haus Labs mix. I still love it anyway 1. DrKindnessKunt1999 6,165 Posted June 7, 2020 Share Posted June 7, 2020 -Plastic Doll is one of the BEST song of the album. -The songs that I go back to the most are Alice, 911, and Plastic Doll, which ironically are the songs I connect with the most. -While a Sour Candy music video would make the most sense to make, I would be way more excited for a Plastic Doll, Alice, or 911 music video. -I kind of wished that there was more 90’s house influences in the album. As in I wished that some of the songs sounded more like they straight up came from the 90’s. -Gaga’s raw vocals are heavenly, but I hope that Gaga has more songs with robotic vocals in the future like Plastic Doll, Alice, or 911. Free Woman is the best song on the album and the most radio friendly. SFA has the best lyrics on the album Babylon is growing on me with every play. It really builds momentum nicely until the end. Reminds me of the slow growth of TIHTY. Every new instrument adds a different dimension and the choir in the background is a great touch. Enigma is mess of shouting and the chorus is boring. I have nothing nice to say about Replay. Rayure 701 Posted June 7, 2020 Share Posted June 7, 2020 I’m not entirely sure what the general consensus on Free Woman is, but the instrumental break after the first verse is very much displeasing to my cochlear nerve. Very much forever 21 music. Its a disgrace to Gaga’s discography. I cannot stress this enough. I cannot comprehend what they (I’m assuming bloodpop) were thinking by including that drop. They could have easily just added the “I’m a free womannnnn” bit over it instead of saving it for the final drop. It’s tragic Yes I listened to the demo, and yes I’m bitter.
