I really can't get into Sour Candy at all as much as I try :neyde:

First, I LOVE this entire album, overall. I listen non-stop so none of my comments are meant to be harsh in anyway, just some opinions.

911 - total skip

Babylon = Vogue 2.0

Plastic Doll has a Katy Perry sound to it. (But I LOVE this song, actually)

Sine from Above could have been so much better. I mean it is GAGA and ELTON! Piano and Powerhouse rock ballad vocals please!

My personal favorites:
Alice
Rain on Me
Free Woman
Fun Tonight
Plastic Doll
Enigma

I dont like how she sings on Enigma (yeah she is awsome but Im not into it)

Also the Replay verses are everything ❤❤ but on the chorus she sings again this way and its so meh. I even prefer her doing growls rather than that tryhard voice style

Omg yes. I would like replay so much more were it not for the extremely over the top, almost obnoxious way she sings the chorus. It bugs me a lot less on enigma because it does fit the song, but on replay it's hust a pet peeve that keeps me from loving the song

chaeri pls

911 suffers from a chorus with a complete stop in energy. Love the song, but the chorus sounds like a bridge, and just blue balls you.

The album is great, but doesn't deliver the "punch" I was hoping for. Majority of it feels very "safe" versus trying to stand out.

I don't find the "concept" of the album to be present in the actual music.

The Haus Labs version of Babylon is far superior, even the low quality snippets. The album version feels extremely hollow.

Free Woman...I prefer the demo.

Plastic Doll isn’t good, but the album as a whole isn’t as best as her past ones tbh.

Plastic Doll is a standout, and shows Gaga at her best IMO - crafting glittery, infectious pop tunes with a underlying pathos.

The official Babylon is the best one, the demo kind of sucks. Maybe the early 80s sound would be better for another album. Doesn't fit on Chromatica though.

I feel like Stupid Love and Rain On Me sound so out of place (they sound pretty modern), like they have a different aesthetic/sound to it which doesn't match the rest of the album (but I love them tho). Lowkey Babylon doesn't fit im either, sounds too 80s wvile the album gives me 2000s vibes

SFA's chorus drop is SO basic, they should have done something else but I got used to it

... and now i just sit in silence.

- Fun Tonight IS a skip

- The intro of Enigma sounds like that Simpsons song and I HATE the Simpsons, but I love the Cher sounding vocals on the chorus.

- Free Woman disappointed me because I loved the demo, however the album version is a grower and it's now one of my favorite tracks. There are so many background layers.

- Babylon is really good, but I still feel the Haus Labs version will be better. But I agree that the album version was the best choice to make the album cohesive.

- I love the cohesiveness, but some songs don't start/end good when played separately.

- Sour Candy sounds like a concert interlude, it will be played during a costume change. A fun song, but I expected more from a BLACKPINK collaboration. Sounds like feat. Gaga, rather than feat. BLACKPINK.

- Sine From Above and 1000 Doves are good songs, but they both sound very dated for a 2020 album.
