Because she feels lonely. Then the Elton appears, two lines, but if you listen closely, when Gaga comes back she's more like in the back and then till then end their voices progressively go to same level, then he's got one solo line, she answers, and then it all fades to this drum and bass stuff. I see what you mean but listening again for this answer I think it's even more well done... I think Elton is pretty much supposed to be an immaterial entity. Like he's the Sine. He's that voice of hope that comes from above, and that speaks through her. It's like they're just one entity... Idk I really love it more now. hello hello baby. I think it's a joke that says : guy, Elton is a legend, is one of the first gay big big artists in history. He sung for Marilyn, Diana, and stand with Gaga now. Also his music might be hard to access. I'd say it's Glam Pop at it's finest. He's like T-Rex but with piano. And he's got so many iconic songs as much as hidden gems. We should all feel so grateful that Gaga has such a good musician on her side. If you look closely, people who support her are the greatest musicians of the industry of Mainstream music. Nile Rogers is the bass line in so many songs. A generous musician, same with Elton.... Idk It's like super obvious.. hello hello baby.

Did he go back to the studio to re-record his vocals when Gaga got a hold of the song? 1-from Rolling Stone: Spoiler He even dug up and dusted off an old track he had worked on when he performed with Sebastian Ingrosso as Axwell and Ingrosso: “Sine From Above.” “I had this old song we worked on, like, seven years ago with Elton John,” Axwell explains. “Sine From Above,” which was also co-written with Ryan Tedder, was meant to be a collaboration between the house duo and the legendary piano man. “We tried working on it and we couldn’t really get it where we wanted it,” he says. “It was also kind of hard to get ahold of Elton John. I had this on my computer and was like, ‘Wait a minute. Lady Gaga and Elton John are buddies.’” Axwell sent the demo to Gaga and Tucker, who loved the track. Plus, Gaga had an easier time getting ahold of John, as a longtime friend of the singer and the godmother to his son. “It was pretty cool how that song finally left my computer,” he laughs. “Recording Elton John on Skype from Australia is one of the most surreal moments I’ll never forget,” Burns adds. 2- Burns and Bloodpop said in Hannah Trulys twitch they cut him from Australia via Zoom 23 minutes ago, KORG said: Why does Gaga barely have a verse in sour candy? What's the problem? It's what she wanted to do in her song. She anchors the middle and end and the FOUR other singers get to shine equally. Ziggy 11,840
I think it would have been too disjointed had they both had two separate verses. The way the song is structured, it wouldn’t flow imo. I think the Gaga harmony is essential and sounds so good. As to why he wasn’t harmonizing her part, given, again, the structure of the song, I agree with them that it needs a less bombastic opening. The song builds and builds. As duets go, they went for epic and epic just gets bigger as it goes. She also did this with Rain in Me to an extent with her vocals punctuating Ariana’s at various points.

Lyrically and musically. Actually, that's what makes this album so cohesive and consistent. The production perfectly matches the lyrics. If I had to sum up Chromatica in one feeling, it would be exactly "dance through the pain", which is what she wanted to portray, and that's perfectly matched between lyrics and production.
