So, apparently she shot two performances for the graduation thing - SL and ROM. Hopefully they can be released soon. And about promo - I guess both sides are right. There are (also black) artists who are back on their schedule and promoting things and some of the stars are still strongly supporting BLM. I wish she could find some kind of balance between the two.

She's doing it because she wants to, she is LADY GAGA not a random singer...

That's very true. While I believe her team advised her to do it to avoid any backlash, I still think it's mostly her and it's what she believes in.

She's doing it because she wants to, she is LADY GAGA not a random singer...

I feel like people forget she was so outspoken in 2008...like I'm not shocked she's advocating for BLM. I was a bit surprised she was doing multiple posts because she's basically stayed out of activism for the most part in the past few years despite doing philanthropy, but like...not that surprised? It's a basic human rights issue that everyone cares about, even people who aren't hardcore activists.

I will say I think the current atmosphere is preventing her from doing promo AND BLM posts/stories. She's not advocating for BLM just to please society, but imo she's probably refraining from promoting because she is worried about any possible societal reactions cause other people are getting dragged for doing promo & some non serious social media posts.

I feel like it's more likely her team told her to cool promo to avoid backlash, but she wanted to post BLM things on her own. My guess is she runs everything by someone before posting it, tho.

This song could mean almost anything. It could be a song of a woman from a toxic relationship, it could be a song about the objectification of women in the music industry, it could be about the superficiality of an attraction.
