Gagadonna 10,801
As much as I love Chromatica, Shallow, I'll Never Love Again, Always Remember and Is That Alright? >>>>>
REALITY 76,588
It's very difficult to compare them. They're two completely different albums, with completely different sounds, written from two very different perspectives (Gaga and Ally). I love ASIB and I genuinely think that the soundtrack has some of her best songs in her career. ARUTW, INLA, Shallow, and ITA are among some of her best. That said, the pop songs on ASIB are just not good (aside from Before I Cry ). I don't care for WDYDT or Heal Me at all. HBF and LWIF are good, but even Chromatica's worst song is better than both of them. In all, if I want a more stripped back sound, I'd honestly probably go to ASIB than Joanne (even though I also really, really love Joanne), but Chromatica fills that need for just some great, new and fresh dance pop songs 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰

spicedchy 184
Hard to say because the ASIB soundtrack served a completely purpose, but I think it’s her biggest triumph, so while I enjoy both immensely, down the line I’ll probably appreciate the soundtrack more. Fuffy 1,027
Chromatica. Hear me out, Chromatica isn't what it seems on the first listen. It's an incredibly introverted album. As an introvert myself, I find this totally relatable. There's very little sex-heavy, social justice or fame-focused content like BTW or ARTPOP or Joanne. Instead Gaga spends the whole album in complete introspection, reflecting on her life, freedom, relationships and self-esteem. The hard beats go so well with this, as introverts aren't quiet or shy, the volume is simply in their mind rather in their voice. It's truly the Gaga album for introverts. ToxicHot 6,444
They're not comparable. At all. Chromatica can only be compared to ARTPOP, Born This Way... I feel. ASIB only makes sense to be compared to Joanne (although not exclusively because one's a soundtrack and the other is an official studio album). I personally consider ASIB a full body of work from Gaga though. It's not like she just contributed a few songs to it like Ariana Grande did with the Charlie's Angels soundtrack. AND Gaga starred in the movie, obviously, and it's a music film. But... I think ASIB is timeless: There are ups, there are downs. Beautiful ballads, adorable pop songs. It's truly a journey, not just through the movie. Chromatica hasn't even been out a full week yet. So far, I do love it, but I'm unable to properly rank it just yet among the others. So I'll go with ASIB. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1!
Just A Holy Fool 2,560
Kind of a hard comparison. But, if I must choose, of course its Chromatica.

You're so right about it. I've had similar thoughts about Chromatica too. It's a really personal album, in a much different way than Joanne is. People who aren't actually fans of her or aware of the meanings wouldn't understand it. It's actually not so "in-your-face" as ARTPOP or even Born This Way. You really have to listen and connect to the songs/lyrics. There's so much emotional, introspective content hidden behind the extravagant dance beats. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1! Cookie Tookie 10,546
The only good things about the ASIB soundtrack are Shallow, I’ll Never Love Again, Always Remember Us This Way, Maybe It’s Time, and Is That Alright. Y’all overrate that soundtrack tbh. I think Chromatica is something I’d rather listen to overall. It has more songs that I like, and it sounds like Gaga’s sound.
