Gaga cancels her Fallon interview amidst current protests

Stef

She previously appeared on the listings for tonight (June 1st) but has now been replaced by.... *checks notes* Jane ElliotΒ :selena:

How many times has she canceled, but yet again...I understand. Kinda hard to promote an album when people are rioting on the streets in almost every major city of the country right now... :saladga:

That's a great replacement tbh. Jane Elliot is an anti-racism activist

Before people attack her, this makes total sense.

She wants to focus on the greater issue going on right now.

I love ActivistGa:heart:

I know that these protests are more important than album release and that the real people we should be feeling sorry for are those affected by the racist system and the results of the riots, but poor Gaga. She had to delay the album once for a pandemic and now promotion the week of the release for civil unrest. As an artist it must be heartbreaking. But again, I know this isn’t about her.Β

It's completely understandable. Sometimes there are bigger things to promote than an album. That said, it's sad that this era keeps getting postponed or cancelled events.Β

She made the right move. Her album isn't as important as conversations about systemic racism that we need to keep having in this moment. Love you Gaga congrats on your number 1.

As long as Jane focuses on the movements. That makes total sense. Gaga can promote at a better time, and we still have the album so that’s good.Β

Was this where she was meant to give a performance? I expect it’ll be cancelled.Β
Β

She should of kept the Fallon slot and recorded a new interview on raising awareness for BLM!!!
