Grim 2,231
Is that just for American Spotify? Can premium users still play downloaded songs offline? I'm probably wrong
Guest
I am not from USA, but I dont support the protest (I am talking about destroying cars, shops, buildings etc). This is horrible! Many innocent people lost their cars, shops and other things. What they are thinking? Why they fight with Police, this is their job, they have to do this (guarding the protest). I hope that Policemen is going to spend many years in jail, but this protest is too strong.
Chromatican 4,046
Wouldn’t it be more constructive to donate a ton of money to bail funds?

I thought it should be about keeping their voice alive not silencing it! I thought maybe playlists of black music on the front page of Spotify would shine a light more as well as Spotify donating to so-called bail funds. exactly! they made a statement saying that we shouldn't be silent. shutting down one of the biggest music platforms in the world INCLUDING music that empowers POC is a part of the issue, they should be using their service to promote the cause instead of shutting it down. Girrr 1,086
If your biggest worry is not being able to stream your music for one day while others live their entire lives in fear, you need to re-evaluate. So disappointed in the replies to this thread.

Rio 5,088
I like the solidarity gesture, but music is a universal healer. I don't think this was the best gesture in that regard, it should be made available in times of need, to keep people inspired and sane. And yeah, I guess I'm pissed off in an insignificant, minor way that it could affect Gaga's album. Gurl can never catch a break with her release timing recently. But oh well. Black Live Matters is far more important.
