FfFfFfFF 58,410
Coffee is linked to a wide range of health benefits, including a lower risk of diabetes, depression, and heart disease. A new analysis has revealed that coffee has a powerful effect on the digestive system as well. In a study funded by the Institute for Scientific Information on Coffee (ISIC), experts reviewed the latest studies on the link between coffee consumption and digestive health. The results of the analysis suggest that drinking coffee helps lower the risk of certain digestive disorders like gallstone disease and pancreatitis. Coffee was also found to enhance certain aspects of the digestive process, such as gut motility, and stimulate digestion. “The effect of coffee on digestion is an evolving area of research,” said Professor Vecchia. “Data indicates benefits against common digestive complaints such as constipation, as well as a potential reduction in the risk of more serious conditions like chronic liver diseases from non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), gallstones, and related pancreatitis.” Source: https://www.earth.com/news/drinking-coffee-promotes-digestive-health/

Knife 7,082
I don't drink coffee. Never have, never will. Everyone I know that's an avid coffee drinker always tells me how they have diarrhea, so..I guess those digestive benefits haven't kicked in for them after all these years. KORG 4,756
What it actually does is act like a mild laxative. Also, gives mad anxiety, mood swings and energy dips. I love it.

Maybe diarrhea IS the digestive benefit the article talks about - it's like you're getting a poop and a wash at the same time It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke! Benji 20,113
It's a vicious circle for me. If I've been ill and I don't drink anything but water for a week then I'll feel amazing after for not drinking any caffeine and I'll have way more energy. I'll have to have one early, early morning or I'll get a bad night's sleep and I'll start drinking coffee to get me through and then I slowly start needing it to function again on a morning I don't think it's bad bad for you but the health benefits gotta be overhyped. One too many cups of them and it feels like you've taken an upper and you're stuck in the anxiety ridden coming up stage The digestive side effects are good though. If I know I'm not going to have access to a toilet for most of the day you can drink coffee in the morning to clean yourself out and YOU KNOW you ain't pooping until the next day and next coffee
