That still proves her power.

If you think from Gomez's perspective, you can never make a statement like "Because Dua and Gaga were the only females released this year." like two is enough to give her a #3, whereas three other couldn't stop Gaga.

Meanwhile it seems Britney’s superfans are trying to get the videos for Toxic, Circus, Oops I Did It Again, Womanizer and Slave 4 U to climb on iTunes to surpass Rain On Me. I swear some people really can’t handle seeing her succeed.

I feel like her team really came hard for merch bundles and physical formats (vinyl, CD, cassette) to maximize sales this time. I never remember her having this level of business savvy behind a release. Each single had three physical formats. The album had all those formats plus the Target exclusive CD and multiple vinyls. We had Stupid Love only merch. Rain On Me only merch. Album merch. Jockstraps. Rubber boots. Whoever does sales at Interscope bet the house after ASIB made her an even bigger world wide star (arguably the biggest she's been since BTW).
