G U C C I 5,570 Posted May 28, 2020 Share Posted May 28, 2020 This is exactly how I feel. The two singles did not give an accurate depiction of the rest of the album for me. I was shocked and couldn’t finish the songs all the way through on the first listen. Alice, Fun Tonight, Replay, & 1000 Doves were the only ones I could really digest. I’ve listened to it again with the lyrics pulled up and I’m still not completely in love with it but I must say and a whole the album is a consistent and manic piece of art. I can really appreciate it as a full art piece but I’m afraid this is going to be an album that does not hold up with streaming. It doesn’t have a super listenable quality to it for me. elijahfan 27,251 Posted May 28, 2020 Share Posted May 28, 2020 I was also a bit puzzled by some of the tracks that ended up being vastly different from what I expected, mostly Fun Tonight, Plastic Doll and Enigma. It took me a second listening session to truly appreciate them, and now I just think the album is a 10/10. The opposite is also true: some songs I didn't really expect anything from ended up slaying my existence, namely Sine From Above and 911, that shot straight up into my top 5 favorite Gaga songs ever. (Plastic doll is almost a bit TOO MUCH for me). I feel like the only ''breaks'' we get are the Chromatica 1-3, it's a lot to digest since literally every song is a dance bop!
