"Chromatica is not Lady Gaga returning to form, that would imply she’s ever had a dull moment - even Joanne held its own in a world of expectation - what is however, is an embellishment of who she is, both inward and outward, in a moment where the world needs beating, pulsating music to get lost in. That’s where we first fell for her, the over the top, accentuated feelings of being carried by something higher - straight up pop bangers, and no one does 'em like Gaga."

Considering she can't even mention her own album at the moment, I think it's doing just fine.

Better go and stream it once again, then :ally:

When will we know if we failed as a fandom?

We have already failed 7 years ago with Ms ARTPOP :billie:

It's not dramatic this time. I'm pretty concerned. News can be both positive and negative.

There are two things here, one is overall streams, which are good. Some people weren't sure we'd get 20 million day 1. This IS GOOD for Gaga, great numbers.

But, percentage wise, it's free falling, which is a really bad for it's long-term prospects. I think it's right to be seriously concerned. Normally new albums recover with Day 4 numbers, but I fear we'll continue to free fall. Hopefully the bleeding stops.

Normally there wouldn’t be a pandemic or a civil rights movement in the US. Normally there would be promo for an album. I don’t think we should track this like a normal launch.

We need to stop playing the "it did better than what we were expecting for the first day" card.

Instead, we need to ask why aren't those listeners coming back. Streams since day one has more than halved.

I mean, I think we'll see in the numbers worldwide that it isn't the US specifically dragging the album down. The lack of promo and everything is unfortunate and we living in a very unique time, but I think drops like this are more to do with how the album is being received, honestly.

On a global scale, that's a drop in the bucket.
