Name a better Gaga album lyrically, vocally, and based on cohesiveness. :messga: the production is a bit clean for her, but I can 100% look past it. This is her best album.

ARTPOP and Joanne are still safely at the top of my favorites list but it'd be blasphemy to rate a Gaga album as anything but a 10 :enigma:

My ranking at the moment:

ARTPOP = Joanne > BTW = Chromatica >>> The Fame Monster >>>>> The Fame

Alice: 8.5/10

Cute opener, and it’s experimental enough to not be cliche even though the theme (Alice in Wonderland) is very common.

SL: 7/10

It’s not bad, it’s not great, it’s placed well in the tracklist though.

ROM: 9/10

Banger, gives me ‘Venus’ and ‘Dance In The Dark’ vibes in different parts, I just love everything about it from the lyrics to the vocals to the aesthetic

Free Woman: 8/10

Grew on me (from 7 to 8), I love the layered chorus and I can already see the music video!

Fun Tonight: 8/10

Lowkey I felt like the song might be about us, but I think it’s also potentially about Bradley Cooper just because of the references to relationships and fame and seeing celebrity differently... Anyway good instrumental, strong vocals.

911: 10/10

Perfect centerpiece for the album, from the intro to the robot voice to the vocals somehow shining through said robot voice to the lyrics to the beat of the chorus to the post-chorus (which should’ve shown up again) just iconic and deserves to get a music vid.

Plastic Doll: 7.5/10

I don’t know why there’s so much hate for this one, it reminds me of a Marina song, but I also thought initially of a modern and genre-bending Just a Girl by No Doubt? It’s good, if not great, and it has a shot at tik tok fame.

Sour Candy: 6.5/10

This song would be better without BLACKPINK, and if it was longer. I love Gaga’s verse and the “I might be messed up...” and the intro, but other than that it’s just pretty okay; Still hoping it hits Top 40 though

Enigma: 7.5/10

Some of the lyrics feel like a reach, just to get it to rhyme, but I think it’s fine for what it is... read into that what you will

Replay: 8.5/10

I was hoping this was Reloaded (and indirectly it kind of was) but this is a good, good song. Lyrical storytelling at its finest, I wish she didn’t pronounce “re-replay” so weird or else it would have been a 9, but I definitely connected with the song (for her if that makes sense.)

Sine From Above: 6/10

And that’s generous... I’m not an Elton John fan, and I was expecting a different type of track for this one. The outro is no good. The whole thing just... it missed the mark for me

1000 Doves: 8/10

I expect to award full marks to the piano demo, I really like this. It’s placed well in the tracklist, the lyrics are great, her vocals are crystal clear, and I just love the idea of a love song fully via metaphor

Babylon: GOD/10

No explanation needed

Overall: 8.8/10, excellent job Gaga

After two listens, I have some thoughts. This is probably her most cohesive album, as far as sound goes. There is a lot of dance, and a lot of house. I think two slow tempo songs would have really sent this album over the top, however I respect what she has done here.

Interludes- Stunning, beautiful. Did she orchestrate these? If so, she just gained even more respect from me.

-Fillers(IMO) - Free Woman, Plastic Doll, Replay, Stupid Love. Plastic Doll and Replay(lyrically I like Replay) are the lowest points for me. Plastic Doll is cringey bad.

-Duets- I felt BlackPink and Elton John were a little unnecessary additions- but I'll get over it.

-High Points - Alice, Fun Tonight, and everything after Chromatica III. This album finishes STRONG. Really Strong. Sine From Above  left me Shook. Babylon is in incredible ending to this album.

-Vocals- She has returned to her initial pop vocals here, which IMO is great. She has one of the best pop vocals in the business, and her mixture of signature robotic GaGa talk is sooooo good to have back. Strongest vocals seem to be on Fun Tonight  Enigma and 1000 doves.

Conclusion- this is a dance album. She told us that's what we were getting and that's what she delivered.

GOod Job Gaga!!

**SOME PEOPLE SAYING THIS IS DATED- There is a push for House and dance music currently, you just aren't well versed on House music- it is going to have a 90's dance sound to it- that's house. House is back, and this is current***

Pop Music

Just finished my 2nd listen and I absolutely love every song

I thought I hyped myself up too much and it would let me down (even though I knew queen of music never lets me down) but no every song slaps hard and has such a good beat and some of her best lyrics

the only songs that aren't clicking amazingly are Enigma and Replay and even though I do love them both they seem to be growers for me

I love all the songs but my absolute favs after first listen are Alice, Free Woman, Fun Tonight (makes me sad). 911, Plastic Doll, Sine From Above, 1000 Doves and Babylon

I think the strongest interlude to song transition is from Chromatica III to Sine From Above just :worship2:

Don't know if it will replace ARTPOP as my favorite album by gaga (and of all time) but it's gonna come pretty damn close

I voted 9 and I know it will be the album of the year for me

I am so proud of her and love her even more than I thought I could

Pop Music and Lady Gaga forever!

Replay 5/10--filler

I gave it a 9, the only thing keeping me from giving it a 10 is that the songs are just way too short.

Can't believe some of you actually gave it such a low score... Joanne wasn't good enough, and now Chromatica isn't good enough... There is just no pleasing some people :triggered:

I voted it a 10. It surpassed Born This Way as my favorite album. That's very hard to do. I compare everything to that album. If it didn't do that, I'd have voted 8 because of Stupid Love dropping it down from 9.

Solid 6.5

A lot of the songs sound the same and the production doesn’t really match the lyrics in my opinion. Babylon was completely botched and doesn’t match the fierceness of the lyrics (probably should not have listened to the demo)

Plastic Doll, can’t even finish the track.

Alice and 911 are standout tracks for sure.

1000 Doves demo - absolutely beautiful. Deserved a spot on the album.

All the interludes were great.

Definitely a dance album but I think the execution could of been better.

I actually loved Joanne, if this is about me. I just can't find a connection to the sounds on this album the way I instantly got goosebumps from Judas/EOG/You and I.

I kinda feel like being in a relationship with someone I used to love but no matter how hard I try I can't recapture the love there once was...

I really want to love this album....I just cant
