All I have to say is: I mean, female producers do not get enough exposure so that itself is a pretty good point. Even Janelle Monae, who really touts female empowerment basically only works with men so I do think that it's a valid point in representation especially when these celebs keep giving lip service to feminism but aren't doing anything actionable to promote it. I'm not saying I mind Chromatica (I haven;t heard it lol), but just that female representation in behind the scenes and tech work is more than a "get over it" issue and being dismissive of it doesn't help it get resolved. Pharamon 6,839
Why so much hatred towards SOPHIE, she really is amazing, does something fresh, provocative and outside of the box. So much for GGD's women empowerment I guess...

I'm female myself and I honestly don't feel any problem with her working with men.. I feel like there is not many women who would actually like to work as producers and that's the reason not many artists work with them.. I just don't like bringing this narrative into someone's work.. I mean I would love for females to be included but I don't have a problem with the fact that there's no female producer on the album.. The second your vanilla ears hear anything REMOTELY progressive, you don't politely express distaste but straight up sh*t on the artist and their supporters. Like, what is wrong with you? My boyfriend is massive fan of progressive rock, people here would sh*t themselves at 8-minutes songs and rhytm changes every 30 seconds oh what can you do... There are plenty of female producers, though. That’s the point. The fact that they don’t get the clout that someone as, frankly, basic as Bloodpop is a testament to sexism in the industry as is the fact that you don’t think there are many. She could work with Grimes, Rez, Charlie XCX, or SOPHIE (controversial, I know, I’m just saying, a female producer lol) just to name a few. There’s also The Black Madonna, Honey Dijon, Björk. There’s a lot of females out there but the dj and producer scene is super male-friendly. I don’t have a problem with Gaga doing this album as she has, or any of her albums. I’m just saying that there is a point to be made that your activism is shallow.mp3 if you just keep saying support women but don’t take action on that. She’s done better bringing women into the writer’s room more so I won’t sell her short, but women are all over the music industry

There's even many studies about women in work place and it showed that girls usually prefer other jobs.. For example you'll rarely see women working as mechanic.. You giving that reaction clearly tells me that you're not ready for this discussion tho.. Anyways.. I'd be happy to discuss this with you in PMs if you're interested.. I honestly thinks she feels more comfortable around guys while working on her music.. Yes there are PLENTY of female producers but the fact is that majority of producers are male and it makes it hard for girls just because there are girls. I see where you’re coming from but I don’t think that shuts down the discussion worth having that someone in Gaga’s position could pave the way for more female producers. She literally got Zedd a contract ffs. Part of what comes with her stature in the industry, and she’s talked about this before, is leading the way for others and being a mentor. No one should know their way around male-dominated spaces in the industry like her so the question begs that does she have a responsibility to use her platform to help other women navigate them? I’m not saying there’s a right or wrong answer just that it’s a conversation that has merit to it. That would be like if Sally Ride said “eh f*** female scientists, there aren’t many so I don’t need to do anything about it.” Change only happens when people go against the tide.
