Well that beach tends to often be windy AF so I think it blows the pollution away tbh Also that part of Portugal is not overly concentrated with industrial activity anyway it's mostly commercia, tourism, entertainment, shops, malls etc so the pollution produced in that area shouldn't be too bad anyway. Go to the Porto area a bit further up North and u get a lot more factories It's also not a heavily populated area. The biggest city near this beach I think is Coimbra and it has only 130,000 people. Although there's tones of smaller cities and towns so it adds up but the point is it's not near a bigger metro like Porto or Lisbon Edit: @AlexanderMagno or is Aveiro which is also nearby bigger than Coimbra? Now I forget which is the bigger city I know Coimbra is more relevant cuz of the big university and education Network but in size I don't know if it's bigger @Lucas to add to my comment Portugal is indeed beautiful. Theres so much I miss about it culturally. The only major advantage of Canada is economic as well as diversity... I sometimes during the summer also drive to Valhelhas in the Serra da Estrela mountains to go to a fluvial beach because the water is so much hotter than in the coast, so as the outside temperature since you're in the middle of mountains. Beautiful city as well. Both Aveiro and Coimbra are good cities. Coimbra is older and has so much history (old university, first capital of Portugal centuries ago, first king is buried there, lots of monuments, place where the great portuguese love story of Pedro and Inês came to a tragic ending). But, I'd probably choose Aveiro to live. But now you reminded me that in Portugal only Lisbon and Porto are growing. It's awful and I have yet to see a country in Europe where such thing happens. Usually, sure capitals tend to call people over, but lots of people are drawn to other big cities. We have 18 district capitals, 18 big cities, and only 2 are growing, and they are the ones that are already huge. The other 16 are losing residents. It's so sad. I wonder what ur standards of big cities are cuz I live in a city that's just a suburb (Brampton) and it has like 630,000 people which I know very few in Portugal have Anyway I don't know if that's just Portugal tho cuz there's other Countries in Europe that also have a declining population And I know lol... The capital has 1million. Porto has 300.000 and it's the second biggest... I completely get what you're saying. UK and Germany probably have lots of cities with very big numbers, but apart from that I'm not sure how big cities in Europe can get. Obviously not to Canada's standards , again with the exception of Germany at least (and UK probably). But you see, Lisbon has 1million, and Porto has 300.000... and everything else keeps losing citizens. Go to Spain, France, even Italy, and you can live in other cities besides the capital and still find everything you need. I think it's cuz Europe has all these towns, villages and small cities... Here in Canada although towns and small cities obviously exist too like everywhere else... The top 10 largest cities combined are like the vast majority of our population especially if u count metros My city Brampton is the 8th largest in Canada And Mealhada does have amazing leitoēs and my cousin sells a considerable portion of the supply in the bairrada area.
