I think Sour Coundy will be a great track to put as a promotional single with a great video! First few days numbers will be big but I dont think Its going to be a successful overall.

I don't have any because no one screenshotted from what I can tell but for a couple hours back in like april/early may there was Free Woman merch up on the site. No pictures or anything. Just the names and prices. I remember all of my twitter mutuals talking about it

Only thing that showed up was a smartURL - no merch. But I guess I’ll take your word for it.

Sour Candy sound could be anything :koons:

Could be similar to Boys Boys Boys, or Manicure, or J&D.
We really don't know :)

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

Maybe an international single but not US. The US won't be playing this on their radios unfortunately.

I think Free Woman will be a promo turned third single. Sour Candy as forth single. Babylon as a promo single/a none single with a video thrown in somewhere.

The album is out Friday, i don't think there will be anymore promo singles

1. SmartURLs have 0% correlation to actual information; I explained this several times and demonstrated how literally anyone with an account (while there may be restrictions as to who they accept, it isn't anywhere close to an industry tool that is monitored or something) can make a URL and redirect it wherever they want a la bit.ly

2. If Gaga/Interscope feel she can't have a successful solo Single after SL exploded on radio quickly, ROM has given her + the album added exposure, and she's coming off of her most acclaimed era, then that's a shame; worse is a fan-base agreeing, though. The entire concept of an era is to promote a new look and sound in tandem with an album that can serve as a defined body-of-work/imprint within a career. We have waited since 2013 for Gaga to put out an era with uptempo pop music, and we want it to end before she has a smash solo effort for future tours, performances, etc. at the very least?

We're content with her including only 1 song in her SB Halftime show released after 01/11, and only 2 songs - Applause ('13) and Shallow ('18) - to possibly be added without a surprise collaborator? LG7 isn't in the realm of possibilities until 2023. That's over a decade gap in pop hits *IF* she includes Applause!

3. Stupid Love was chosen as the lead single over Rain On Me for exactly this reason; this was Gaga's comeback, and SL's debut, reception, and radio presence all showed an appetite for new pop music from her, and provided her an opportunity to explain and promote the concept of Chromatica - which is likely to be an absolutely amazing album from start to finish - without Rain On Me completely cannibalizing the conversation. Do you guys not see what a lift Rain On Me gave Stupid Love this week in streaming? Do you see its position on iTunes? Had ROM been released April 3rd as planned, Stupid Love was still in the Top 40 and gaining on Radio... she would've had 2 songs in the Top 10 on album release week, with the potential of an additional 1-2 songs (depending on promo single strategy/SC music video and streams, etc.) the following. It was a brilliant tactic that backfired only because the gap between SL and ROM became too extended, and SL tumbled without the support of performances, etc. Still, ROM and Chromatica will allow is to Chart again for 2-3 additional weeks for ~11-13 weeks total which is great compared to Perfect Illusion, her last lead.

Sour Candy will peak/perform high just because of the fact the blinks are ready to stream it infinitely 24/7 since the release day, I don't think a MV is really needed but I have a feeling she will do it anyways. It'd be great if BLACKPINK represents a whole tribe in a MV, it would make sense

Yea it is a cute bop. Sonically -for me- it is like the Electric Chair of Chromatica. I'd miss it if it wasn't there, but I'd never imagine it being a single.

Agreed 500%

also why don’t people stop guessing and wait till Friday... because you don’t know the banger your gonna fall in love with. We haven’t heard Alice !!!!!

4. I absolutely agree that she needs to release a *solo* single next. She needs to get the GP's attention on a solo effort that can extend her discography and relevance beyond where it is currently (backended with collabs/ballads). She deserves at least 1 of her solo masterpieces to get the buzz and hype of a post-ROM release; it seems Free Woman and Babylon have MVs, although I think 911 or Alice will be more powerful. A solo single will debut well and catch the attention of the GP while radio will give it success + longevity (top 10 debut/ peak, IMO). This allows 2 solo songs from 2020 to join her setlist (SL will get a bit more love in the coming weeks) and she can submit both a solo and collab for 2021 Grammy consideration.

5. The major appeal of having Sour Candy on the album is for the streams and market penetration from BACKPINK; these are most important week of 5/29 (streams) so releasing some sort of video ~06/02 would boost Chromatica sales, give the track + Gaga some buzz in new markets, allow Sour Candy to chart on the H100 (possibly Top 20), and NOT distract much attention from Chromatica and ROM.

6. I love the idea of releasing limited-release singles for this album. The collaborations with BLACKPINK and Elton have enormous potential for her career and sales; Sour Candy can chart as a non-single while boosting Chromatica sales and bringing in new fans. Sine From Above can pander to her ASIB demo / market and, if released after Aug. 31, can be submitted for Best Pop Collab for 2022 Grammys.

Full Singles: Free Woman (next), Babylon (since MV is confirmed)

Limited Release: Sour Candy (Asian markets; 2 videos - 1 lyric and 1 full; no radio), Sine From Above (US, UK, CAN, AUS; Adult/HAC radio only)

Possibilities: Alice or 911 (released close to SFA; fundraiser for mental health or BTWF; turn into full single if era smashes)

My strategy:

5/29: AlbumChromatica

6/02: Lyric Video - Sour Candy (animated/lyric/etc.)

07/10: Single #3 + Music Video - Free Woman

07/17: Limited Release Single - Sour Candy (Asian Markets; no radio)

07/20: Music Video - Sour Candy

08/21: Single #4 + Music Video - Babylon

09/11: Limited Release Single - Sine From Above (UK, AUS, US, CAN; AC + HAC Radio only)

09/25: Single #5 - Alice / 911 (promo/perf. with or in place of Sine; more mature lyrical content to fit the same messaging... promo'd as a fundraiser for mental health or BTWF... if era is smashing, do a full release)

Maybe BlackPink was supposed to be the Spiritual ones. Is Gaga also a Spiritual one? :oprah:

Or this godlike being:

Rain On Me GIF by Lady Gaga

I really hope they filmed multiple videos before lockdown, there must be a video for Sour Candy sooner or later! :messga:

I doubt it. it ether be between Babylon or Free Woman. I do see it as a album track that gets a cute lyric video thought :enigma:
