I don’t even know what it is but it’s actually one of my favourite parts of the whole video :billie:

Right? It takes on this sort of digital, ethereal almost animated kind of look. If the rest of the era even has a fraction of this aesthetic then it'll probably be my favorite era visually.

I don’t know pretend to know the exact meaning, but to me it represented feeling trapped in a chamber with all of her overwhelming trauma pouring down on her, which is often how all-consuming trauma can be that it literally drowns your senses. It reminded me of her ARTPOP/Five Foot Two days when she would use being underwater as a means to escape her pain and the harsh realities of fame, but in this case even in the water she’s drowned in her trauma—it’s an inescapable scenario that she ultimately accepts and celebrates for what it is, hence “rain on me” being a command for the rain to continue because that acceptance in itself is enough :bradley:

I also think Gaga looks beautiful and the imagery of the rain falling over her and her just accepting it and is awesome. It reminds me of the feeling I had when I first saw Bad Romance and there were closeup shots of of Gaga crying just looking in the camera

Come to think of it, it sort of reminds me of the water trap in Saw. :wtfga:

A chamber she's drowning herself in that actually makes sense :oprah:

Yes! Gaga’s chamber scene and her other red/wired-up cyberpunk look definitely reminded me of The Matrix too. I loved the late 90’s/early 2000’s vibe of the video; despite it using a green screen and the campy blue eye scene (with rain level warning) that reminded me of the Stupid Love aesthetic, it still felt very modern and fresh.

This scene reminded me of Michael Jackson’s SCREAM music video :) maybe it was an homage:

Looks like her reflection on a puddle. I think it’s just a representation of how she feels On the inside.
