brooklyngypsy 125
Rewatched the mv for John Wayne and the visuals are so Acid Western inspired, and how it suddenly abruptly ends, switches back to Gaga from Million Reasons, which looks so realistic and minimalistic compared to the bright neon colors in John Wayne. And she just walks away without a word, like a moment of realization, with the colorful acid-like THE END over the final shot. At that point beyond, every one of Gaga's creative works has been kinda psychedelic or visually super colorful since then (not counting ASIB as filming would've been at least a year before its release, which was most likely before the potential acid trip). The Cure seemed like a return to the more creative and bizarre Gaga, and then ENIGMA is a ****ing insane hyperactive, cyberpunk psychedelic trip itself (THE HEALING PLACE, "what's happening to me") Which brings us to Chromatica, where she talks a lot more philosophically about her newfound set of ideas, like that theory that God is a sine wave. And her comments about how people are one collective human, breathing and living as one -- ideas that are rooted deeply in psychedelics and the works of Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert. The album is about healing from trauma through dance and sound, and if she believes sound to be "God", that could suggest she had a very therapeutic psychedelic trip (as shrooms have a lot of benefits for overcoming PTSD and depression) in which she "spoke" to that sound, which she kinda mentioned earlier this era. Also Alice referring to Alice in Wonderland (which is basically the psychedelic manifesto) seems to add up. What do we think monsters, should we all LOSE OUR MINDS AND LISTEN TO CHROMATICA?? (I kid I kid lmaoo)

PoetsTryinWrite 1,262
You’ve got some good points. I was thinking about this but I have to clarify as an ex-user of psychedelics: it is entirely possible to have these thoughts and ideas without the use of substances. I help a lot of drug addicts and during this pandemic a great excuse I hear for relapse is “my creative juices aren’t flowing.” I do not recommend anyone take LSD or psychedelic mushrooms for inspiration. You will never be motivated all of the time, so you need to acquire discipline. Stay safe. Defend Your Humanity.

DarkGa 300
Probably, in the Zane Lowe Joanne interview she said all of her friends were on shrooms at a Beck concert, so presumably she dabbled in it too.
