God is a Sound Wave

From what I remember, in the Zane Lowe interview Gaga said that there’s a theory that God was a feminine sound wave. She saw her father and dived down to be with him, but it turns out she only saw a reflection and therefore plunged into an abyss. She split into two universes, a good and an evil one, and Gaga thinks she lives in the evil world.

I was interested in reading more about the theory, but I couldn’t find anything online. Does anyone know more about it, or is it probably something Gaga or her friends theorized?

it's what she came up with in Zane Lowe studio's dressing room or wherever the interview was :billie:

The theory goes all the way back to the Gnostic during the middle ages about living in the evil side of the world. But there is some Zorianastronism here that God is a dual deity that there's a good and evil. Also a Taoist  belief that we need good and evil to create balance in the world.

This all screams "every religion has a hint of truth" theory from the New Age crowed. It goes against her Catholic beliefs .

Zorianastronism
-> Zoriana
-> Z + oriana
-> Oriana
-> Ariana!

You, you love it how I move you
You love it how I touch you
My one, when all is said and done
You'll believe God is a sound waaaave

I actually find it funny that her faith changes every era. She lowkey shaded religions in the Zane Lowe interview. What she said was very New Age to me.

I find this aspect of Gaga truly transcendental. This is the third construct that Gaga has taught me: she was the first person I’ve ever heard or read anywhere to say the words “epigenetics”, “intergenerational pain” and now this new theory about God as a sound wave and the feminist theory of genesis. And i’m a massive math, science and history freak. So, she’s already taught me so many things. I honestly could listen to her speak for hours.

About the feminist creation myth, I do believe it pre-dates Zoroastrianism, which was more of a moral philosophy than a cosmic religion. Also, the Persians were warriors and traders, but Feminist theory (and practice) was much more imbued with naturalism and spirituality and essentially a hunter-gatherer nomadic lifestyle where everything is tied to the earth, seen as a reflection or mirror of both heaven and the sea. Everything in nature has an oppposite. Even nature itself has an opposite: destruction.

I am almost certain the story she mentioned is the origin of many later Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Mesopotamian myths, corrupted by money and warfare. It’s a paradox: The oldest (known) myth in almost any civilisation is one of the GREAT FLOOD (rain on me). Stories about what existed *before* the flood almost always come *after* the flood.

I suggest dabbling in semiotics, Donas de fuera, Anunnaki, qualia, and whatever you find links idea to idea of what you already desccribed.

Thanks for the replies everyone! I was particularly interested in whether Gaga thought of the theory she described, but I’ll probably look into others you all mentioned as well!

I love that Gaga is so thoughtful and intentional in her beliefs, words, and actions. Another reason she’s so special.

The oldest mythological beliefs that predate writing are believed to worship a goddess as nature. Early tribes used to be matriarchal before civilization. You can see it in sculptures Venus of Willendorf. Women were seen as life bringers, being able to create and birth life.

This is very popular in New Age theory bringing back that concept again.

For me, it's pretty reminiscent of the story in the Born This Way video, about her splitting into two: good and evil. Seems like she's following the narrative and fitting it more within the context of what Chromatica is and the reoccurrence of the sine.

That sort of reads akin to Unitarian Universalism, which would incorporate Catholicism … or, vaguely from what I recall, but, tbh I’m no theologian or Gnostic scholar

Gurl. She believes in this from long before. It's literally the Mother Monster Manifesto.

I need a show hosted by Gaga where she serves looks and just pulls a topic out of a hat and talks about it for half an hour every week
