As a huge Killah stan, I still have to go with Aura. That being said, both absolutely top notch tracks. Both songs are better live, but the studio version of Killah is better than the studio version of Aura, imo.

Killah is a more competently-made song... but it has that abomination of a bridge.

Aura feels like a joke of a song... but it doesn't have that abomination of a bridge.

I'm torn.

But I'm choosing Killah.

Oh my god.

I was shocked to see you voted for Aura, as you defend KILLAH so passionately here.

It is so, so, so dumb & ugly lol

...& mostly because of what LG added to the already-made instrumental

Sorry

Making a solid choice for completely wrong reasons. Typical NUTJOB behavior :Cautious:

Killah hands down. Sleeker production, lyrics that tell a story and actually make sense, and the breakdown is a genuine jaw dropping moment of production in her discography. I love Aura, but after hearing every alternate take of the track, it’s clear that there was an artistic compromise from the vocal delivery (first verse) and lyrical content (switch from Burqa —> Aura); further, that it’s a reworked instrumental (a fu*cking banger of a rework), ranks it a bit lower than Killah. The orientalist eroticization in the lyrics, mixed with (white) female empowerment, and robotic ARTPOP “thesis statement” bridge makes Aura truly emblematic of the era itself: too many ideas, too many cooks, not enough editing.

Head Empty

Not you asking this question when I'm having a full-fledged Aura (demo) revival moment :messga:

Both of these songs excel at the "I'm angry and annoyed but in a c*nty way" vibe. Aura (demo) takes it to full on delicious agression while Killah is the epitome of edging. Either way I'm eating that sh*t UP and they're top tier Gaga tracks.

At this moment I'd say:

Aura (original leaked demo) > Killah > Aura (album version)
