Nicki Minaj fans attack Usher for saying she's the product of Lil Kim

Usher and Swizz Beatz hopped on Instagram Live to toss around possible match-ups for the Verzuz series. When hit with the possibility of Nicki Minaj squaring off against Lil' Kim, Usher's answer put him in the Barbz's crosshairs. He contended Nicki "is a product of" Kim.

 

As documented, Minaj and Lil' Kim have had a history of tension. So once Usher's comments hit the timeline, Barbz ignored Kim's lasting impact on rap to take Usher's remarks as a shot fired at Nicki. This prompted Minaj's loyal fans to troll the singer in her defense.

Why do you have to title this thread like “Nicki Minaj fans attack...”  Just say what Usher said. 

Anyway... I’m not denying that Kim has definitely influenced her. Of course people are gonna be annoyed by the comparisons. How would you feel if people said this about Gaga being a product of Madonna? It’s just unnecessary, I feel. And Nicki has accomplished so much in her career, becoming the highest-selling female rapper in her 10 years. Why does everyone here feel the need to bring her down??

It's not an insult. In some ways you could say Lady Gaga is a product of Madonna. They are their own separate people; it's just that one paved a similar path first.

Don’t act like Gaga fans wouldn’t do the same if someone made the same comment about her and Madonna.

I think what’s most annoying is that female artist are constantly compared to each other. Whether it be their peers or their elders. They can never just be complemented on their accomplishments without having it compared to someone else’s. When’s the last time Drake, Kendrick or J Cole was compared to Tupac or called the product of him or any other male artist?

The blatant hypocrisy of Nicki and her stans demanding respect and adoration from Cardi (which is basically what fueled that beef... Nicki felt she wasn’t given a certain level of respect from the newcomer that she was entitled to) when they didn’t do that very thing for Kim.

It's true, it's a compliment for them to be in the same sentence actually 

But her fanbase is notorious for being high strung and aggressive, and she encourages it.

No shade, no shade, but look at other instances where they've attacked others online. Not saying other fanbases don't, but hers are a notch above.
