An artist sits in a studio and makes music they love, and majority of them are just happy to have fans who enjoy their music. Celebrating commerical success is one thing, but what is really disheartening is seeing "fans" label a song as a flop, or changing their opinion on the song itself based upon how it performs on the charts. I've seen this with this fanbase everytime Gaga releases new material. Everyone hailed GUY as one of the best songs on the album, and as soon as it "underperformed", everyone hated the song. Think of how many musical artists are out there. To have your song even touch the Billboard Hot 100 is a massive feat, and people should be grateful for that.
