she is pregnant so may be that's why she isn't singing live. Few places it sounds like there's some help with backtracking but nevertheless she sounds and looks amazing. And the production is on point.

This was cute and really creative :) Well done Katy, especially for moving around the stage like that whilst heavily pregnant :diane:

I don't care if it's live or not, she's never been quite the vocalist, but that performance was great.

Just a green screen? sure, it was, but it was pretty nicely executed not like Dua Lipa's Zoom calls that were also cute but meh.

And hey, she's promoting her first single. Hope Gaga steps up her game with Rain on me, there's no excuses.

It was American Idol finale so she for sure had bigger budget than Dua

Gurl. Chill TF out and don’t get so stressed. I’m not being negative, I’m just saying, anybody could have done that mime performance. She’s not singing live.

She may not be a good artist

But she's hell of a great entertainer

This proves there's literally not excuse for not promoting in social distancing times :applause:

It isn't live... What are y'all smokin?

2:27- 2:32  pretty much proves she is singing live.

But I guess people feel the need to go off.

Great green screen effects and she had to remember all that, so that's impressive. But yeah, it didn't take me long to realise that she was blatantly lipsyncing to pre-recorded vocals because her voice wasn't at all affected by all that moving around (and while pregnant into the bargain). It sounds almost exactly like the studio version and she hits the notes in all the same ways, you can't even hear her breathing and you ought to considering she must have been nervous in more ways than one - remembering lyrics and what movements she was supposed to be doing and where. To sing live on top of all that was clearly too much.

That was pre-planned. Lipsynched performances have everything set out to make it look natural. But she still messed up a little bit in other ways.

1.28 - 1.30 didn't change her vocals at all. I've never spun like that and not had my voice affected a little bit.

1.42 is when she says "nowhere" and she puts her mouth up and the mic is clearly not near her mouth yet the word comes out just fine.

2:21 is when the same thing happens for a brief moment.

2:50 is when her mouth barely moves at all and yet the final "daisies" is shouted as she pitches forward. She looks as if she was focused so much on that leap that she forgot to "sing."

Some performances also have it pre-recorded so far and then are sung live for the remainder. It's not that we feel the need to go off, it's that we feel the need to make people live in reality.

LOL

This tin foil hat stuff needs to end. People have been singing and dancing live for years. You've obviously never been to Broadway.

Get a grip already detective lip sync.

For the last time, it's not tin foil hat stuff, it's a true thing that happens all the time and you can study what to look for, like here:

If it feels too perfect, especially if the singer is known for the imperfect vocals, like Katy is, it's usually a sign that something's off.

A YouTube video. :ladyhaha:

Why are you so triggered?

I've seen people fall onstage and never miss a note then gloat about how they always sing live and others should do the same.

If what your video says is true then they are sumg elitest liars.

It's an informative YouTube video. There only used to be amateur ones uploaded before, this is by a professional production. It's credible to use YouTube if it's based on facts. I'm not triggered, I'm just trying to educate people who are genuinely believing that this was a live performance. I don't like to see people being deceived.

What did you mean by you've seen people fall and then gloat that they always sing live? Do you mean they fell but words were still coming out the mic perfectly or what? Because I don't get what your point is. If someone has an accident on stage but their vocals aren't the least bit affected, then they're lying, obviously.
