For some reason, Trap music is the hit thing in the US right now so my predictions are:

Scenario 1 = Not a banger:interestinga:

Chart: 6-10 or even go lower like 15ish

Longevity: Low

*It will still chart high because of the hype and front loadedness. Solely fan driven performance.

Scenario 2 = Average banger:ally:

Chart: 3-5

Longevity: Low to mid

*The performance will be fan driven until the GP catches up. Its lifespan will depend on the marketing strategy and radio support.

Scenario 3 = Smash Hit Banger:firega:

Chart: 1-2

Longevity: High

*Lady Gaga and Ariana are very popular and have big fan bases. Therefore if the song is a banger then it will surely explode in all metrics and given the hype of Gaga's album, it will have a good run on charts.

Unexpected factors: Sudden release of big names (like Adele, Rihanna, Drake, etc); collabs of big trap artists/rappers or some trending tiktok artists/songs  :madge:

it all depends on the song.

I think fans can take it to top 5,

but 1 needs GP.

Very true. With fans (including casual fans) that will only do so much

But again that's why I said "if the song is good"

I realize if perception is bad and the GP doesn't jump on it, the names attached to the song and fan base will only do so much

If the song is a real bop then yes it's probably going 1, if not we should except a top 3

I love how u broke it down like that by scenarios. Economists do that all the time for forecasts

Someone mentioned a rumour of a Drake and Weeknd collab release

If that were true id be even more concerned with that than Taylor Swift

And here in Canada Drake & The Weeknd dominate charts even stronger than in US because people like their Canadian artists (there's been times I flipped stations and 5 radio stations were playing Drake at the same time, it's insane)

No way in my Country even Gaga and Ariana could beat a Drake song (even without a Weeknd collab)

Blade said it wasn't true about the rumor.

I hope it's #1 tho

The thing is whether a song is #2 like Bad Romance or low top 10s like Judas either way they count the same as top 10s as far as artist career achievements go when they are looked back on

But #1s also get their seperate mention which is why they are so sought after

If u don't hit #1... Whether it's a #2 or a #10 either way they are considered top 10 hits and doesn't make a big difference

Of course either way a #2 is better than #10 but I'm just saying for artist legacy sakes and achievement they both would count simmilarly

cautiously optimistic

Same

But not gonna lie super hopeful. I stan hard with charts cuz I wanna see my fav build a big legacy of success and be remembered as one of the biggest legends

Stanning for charts may seem superficial but for me that's the main reason why

There's also the fact that commercial success also means more likely record label and promoters will continue to allow commercial budgets longer or plan tv interviews longer too

Artists get a lot less of that once they are seen as no longer relevant in general public

Not confident about going #1 on debut week but I think it could climb with radio support.

I'm not trusting LM to make this song go top 5, they are a disappointment.

Our only hope is Ari's fans.

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
