It’s not like they tease and drag it out for no reason, It’s a strategic pr move. It gets people talking and interested. Getting so many content by surprise. Without stretching and theorizing. Not sure what’s fun about this era or ARTPOP or the lies and promises during BTW, but I guess stans can be quite masochistic.
Miel 15,009
I love the idea of a surprise release, especially if it's done right! What Bey did really, really well with self-titled, is that the album kind of came out of nowhere, but also at a time where she was still kind of present. Post-SBHTS, Ms. Carter World Tour, and such, she was present, and her fans probably weren't bored, so they were being fed and were surprised by the end of the year. It worked out for them. Considering how rabid pop stans can get when there's a lack of something or anything going on (Gaga fans, but also Rihanna fans, for example), I'd hope it'd get planned out a bit more than just a surprise release in the middle of a drought. And we all know Gaga loves her droughts. I think a good idea (off the top of my head- this could also be an awful idea, just let me know lmao) would be, like, if she were coming off of another jazz standards/"covers" era, or maybe even some other kind of project (filming for a show, series, etc), and then bam surprise release. It would have come right after an era of people kind of hungry for more, while also being consistently fed. 3 points in and ready for more
